Honestly, riders like Smith don't deserve even a CRT ride and super alents like Iannone gets POS Ducati. Smith said "the most important thing is to come here and enjoy and that is enough knowing you can ride" lol yes, on the same bike Dovi scored 6 podiums last year. Bradley Smith certainly does not deserve that Ride. They should hve that ride to Iannone.

@ realist....

Keep trying.....

Did you read a little further, like the tweet from Ben Spies for instance?
So what if he has got the same engine? That engine has to transfer its power to the track....via the chassis you'll be surprised to learn!
If you did a little research you'd find that the problem they had with the early 2012 chassis was wheelying too easily and putting the power down on corner exit, affecting acceleration and therefore speed on early part of the straight. Its all there if you take the bigot blinkers off and try to understand the dynamics of getting a race bike round a track, its really quite interesting, so much more rewarding than hurling abuse........

I think it just comes down to the fact that he doesnt have a good Race setup and in order to crack the top 4 this season Rossi,Jlo,Dani or Marquez are going to have to crash out,Cal makes mistakes riding over his ability.
Theres really nothing wrong with 5th place in a stacked Grid like we have this year,I know the British Fans and Cal himself expects higher but its going to be very hard to step on the podium this season.

People say Crutchlow cant pass.I cant agree.Take a look at Silverstone last year.He started dead last on the grid and fought his way through the field to finish 6th.With a broken ankle to boot.
He was advised by medical staff not to ride that day,but he was still determined to have a go.This shows commitment and balls of steel.Yet people here still want to pour cold piss over him at every opportunity.

Errrr a factory bike isn't about having horsepower any more (although that helps a lot) its about the whole package . Especially the electronics side. Chassis,suspension and brakes matter too. This is the inheritance from the 800's. The balance has changed in this class from 50/50 bike/rider to more like80/20 like F1. Cal was 1st non factory bike and pushed those guys hard.

CC is the man, so he overcooked and ran wide still finished 5., that is a good result., i think he deserves a factory m1!! why not this is racing and as a fan off racing i would like too see more people with a equipment to win on the grid that is my opinion, to say that he cant pass., it is easy to say sitting on the couch!!!

@pp916

Cal uses exactly th esame engine/chassis/gearbox as Rossi do(at least in the first race). So claiming he was faster because of factry ride is nothing but BS. Did you even watch the race? did you see how Cal ran wide trying to stay with Rossi. Cal and his fans must accept the fact that he is no championship winning material and no match for even Pedrosa let alone 9 times world champion and the reigning world champion. You should always remember Dovi wiped the floor with him. Cal has not done anything and want factory ride. He now thinks he is better than Rossi and deserves his ride. I say again SBK riders are no match for GP riders, FACT!! Don't forget Rossi won his first premier class title on Satellite Honda. 5th is the best position cal can hope for if he is lucky to beat Bradl. Beat #46/99/26/93 is just a dream. You don't come from nowhere and claim Factory ride, Yamaha didnt give it to Dovi who again wiped the floor with Cal. Maybe next Bradley smith wants factory ride

because he is very fast , more fast bikes on the grid more pressure on the top riders (as a fan off racing i would like too see that) if you look it from the factory point of view they don't, they have 2 top riders in 2 top possessions like you said!!! and i really like CC so why not?? if you were a racer or maybe you are i don't know wouldn't you like to have the best/latest equipment at your disposal???
