Lorenzo's speed it's not a linear fact, he would have to slow down a tenth here and there eventually or risk baking the tires, had Rossi been able to keep him within reach I'm sure he had something for him, Rossi was clearly faster than the second group.

I AM A ROSSI FAN...... but i for one had my doubts whether the Dr could still pull it off. i was delightfully surprised and glad when he started reeling in the podium group. i would like to see him put some pressure on JLo in the future races. Facts from the past.....JLo used to fold under real pressure from Rossi....making mistakes. Would like to see if that will still be the case.....interesting times ahead for sure

@martin
relax. just watch the race until this season ends. We will see if rossi can beat jlo or not.

i personally think rossi can still beat jlo. it will be very hard for him to do so ....but not impossible...

to see him race like that at qatar.....and he's 34.... still epic....

Hi
Now if Rossi who's almost again had his ambition outweigh his talent , would have kept his calm and not doing a beginner mistake we would have known wouldn't we:)
Lorenzo had the race in his bag he could have upped it any time, really good ride by Rossi but the MAN was no other than MM, 5 times on the bike and the GOAT just beat him, and if MM tyres was as bad as Danis then if we talkes if's, If MM tyres was better then we would not have this discussion because Rossi would have been 3rd.
Cheers Claes

@ claes

were you actually watching the MotoGP race??....at Qatar...... on sunday??
look at the facts on the times set in that race by JLo, Vale and MM. Did you notice that Vale put in his best laps towards the end of the race on cooked tyres, as opposed to JLo and MM doing that only in the beginning of the race!!!! yes Jlo was just putting around the track at that time bcos of his lead, but theres no way MM would have outpaced Vale the last few laps. If MM was really that brilliant, why didnt he pull out behind Pedrosa and started chasing JLo ??
i rest my case ur honor........

What a pointless article!!

Comparing lap times of somone with a comfortable lead to someone going glat out until the finish line

crash is all about getting traffic now. 'journalism' is abysmal

Well hold on guys,, Rossi on his yamaha return wasted no time to show his race craft and battling skills, he is still that same ruthless warrior when it comes to challenging human rivals and hunting them,, Rossi has just arrived and there is still room for improvement from his side,, two years on that ducati and his level confidence and comfortness on yamaha is still not 100%,,

And the nerves of that super consistent rider needs some quality check with Rossi chasing behind with similar race pace,,

Two years of moral destructive seasons, at the age of 34 and sunday night was epic,,

Reading the lap times it seems that Rossi wasn't really gaining on Jorge. It seems that Jorge was managing the gap and put in slightly faster laps when it seemed that Rossi had gained a couple of tenths.

I will be very interested to see how they go head to head without traffic impeding either of them. Also Marc's times seemed to slow just before Rossi passed him but he managed to pick the pace up on the last lap.

It is certainly going to be an interesting season.
