“Marquez did the fastest lap in his first race, like I did. But I crashed, so he is better than me!” – Valentino Rossi.

If Rossi is to be compared with any other riders those have to be Agostini and Hailwood. Any others do not come close in their contribution to the history of Motorcycle road racing. Stoner was a great talent but i think its only his die hard fans wishing to re-write the record books who suggest he is a GOAT.

I seriously think Marquez, with all due respect to Lorenzo, is the next name to be added to the 3 above.

Once MM settles in and learns more of his trade he is going to win a considerable amount of races, his peers will be powerless to hold him back. The lad has talent not seen since well, a certain Mr. Rossi.

MM needs to survive and win at least a couple of MotoGP titles before he can be added to your esteemed list. I take your comment to be a prediction that he will which is fair enough.

correct... this is entirely my opinion and the first "prediction" I have ever made in commenting on this sport.

in 40 years of watching road racing I have not seen anyone as exciting as this kid already was when racing 125's.

Respect to all of road racing's warriors !

I dont care if the others are as good or perhaps even better than Rossi (not), nobody comes even close to him when it comes to the most thrilling rider in the padock.
To watch him display his awsome talent is a fantastic rewarding experience.
Thanks Vali.

"if not Yamaha or Honda, he would not on the podium, it's coming from the bikes not him"

if not for Honda, he would still be a one hit wonder, it's coming from the bikes not him

"How many races do you think it will take before he falls out with Jorge'?"

In all honesty, I think this will come down to how JLO can cope with having rossi right "there" both on points and in the races.

The time will come where the factory will seek direction for the bike and they will not simply ignore what JB & VR have to say so will JLO cope with this?

Remember, JLO is the No 1 rider now so how will he deal with the factory listening to VR at least as much as him when in any other team, the No2 would be ignored?

Rossi is in prime position...No2 rider = no pressure from factory to finish in front of JLO, only the pressure he puts on himself.

If VR can take consecutive races in front of JLo, then I think the more pertinent question is how long before JLO falls out with Rossi?

the only people wanting, thinking or wishing for a fallout between Rossi and JLo are the haters.
just something else they can hope for so they can blame it all on him as usuall.
