MotoGP » Rossi: Welkom '04 more special, Marquez 'better than me!'

“Marquez did the fastest lap in his first race, like I did. But I crashed, so he is better than me!” – Valentino Rossi.

@JAS,
Well I kinda did. My point is and was that the rider or the crew chief can only make suggestions to engineering. What comes back is the engineer's interpretation of the information and his ability to turn those suggestions into working hardware. The rider and crew chief do not design and engineer a bike. The only thing a rider or crew chief can be blamed for is not giving accurate feedback. And every single rider has given the same and Ducati's engineering has NOT fixed it yet.

Well after Valentino with the Ducati, Losail just shows heis the best RACER of all time. What a performance. And Cal was just unlucky, but put that behind him and he will win a race this year he has that pace, just needs the luck to go with it and the right track. Stay safe MOTOGP RIDERS.

"Its The Rider Not the Bike"

@JAS,

Apart from not having all your "facts" in order (Bayliss never ridden in GP?)... you are also accepting that,

stoner simply wasnt good enough in 06,08,09,10 & 12 yet is better than all for being good enough in 07 & 11.

Just puts into perspective again, the stupidity of arguing CS is better than VR...

VR not good enough 00,06,07,10,11,12 but good enough 01,02,03,04,05,08 & 09

Good reply, but come on, you took one adjective from my post and that's not my whole point.

I meant that titles are a precondition to enter in the top 4-5 of all times, but they're not enough as we're talking best ever here.

You should dig deeper and analyze single races and circumstances about those titles.

Any epic race, any epic overtake, any legendary duel, any title won with the bike that wasn't the best, anything that got the public on the edge of the seat.. ?
That's what I mean.

Example:
-Biaggi 6 titles between SBK and 250, oldest rider to ever win a championship but he doesn't make it to the super top not even in SBK because of his (lack of) wheel to wheel skills
-Doohan: 5 titles and retired because of injury but nope, he doesn't make it in the Olympus (not winning with second best bike, not enough epic races etc. )

I never heard stoner ever say someone was better than him, never mind any compliments whatsover.

That guy was his own worst critic and his biggest fan.
MotoGP is better off without him.

Marquez is very interesting, chatty and talented.
