Realize that it's all about capitalism,but some of this is a bit too much. COTA trying to put a "spin" on their rules by announcing them after the Boston tragedy and making people think it's because of what happened Boston is just wrong. All of these rules were in place last November for the F1 race. I was shocked that you couldn't bring a small cooler to a race track.

I'm sure the no pedestrians entering the track is really going to work. Austin is touted as being "Green", yet they are saying you have to be in car to enter the grounds!!! They are trying to stop people from parking at all the nearby houses and businesses close to the track and paying less for parking. Last year a 3-day parking pass for F1 was $250, this year I believe they are $200. We piled 8 of us into one vehicle, so we didn't feel the sting as much.

I didn't see the $14 beer while I was there, we paid $8 and $9 for beer. As mentioned by others, every sporting event over charges for food and drinks. The o

@MC
maybe we can pile in with you, lol, we dint rent a car figure we would take a shuttle like we do at Seca, again that's free, an really convenient.

I expect a certain amount of price gouging, but seems their taking it to whole nother level, 80 bucks a day for parking lol, I also read it's 15 grand to park your RV inside. We go to Indianapolis every year too, an love it like seca, all in all we are looking forward to a good time, good food, and good people.

Shamarone, I'm all for supporting the sports we love, but the owners of these venues need to meet the consumers half way. Not everybody in this country is rich and when the average Joe Public comes up with ways to attend these events and save a little money-like having a friend drop you off at the track to save money on parking-he is thwarted by some track owner who won't even let you walk into his facility. When faced with options that can only lead you to spend more money, like having no arranged or public transportation to a track that is out in the middle of nowhere, the average guy is going to have to think twice about attending a race. If COTA is unwilling to make the effort to make it somewhat easier for moto fans to attend their race and enjoy themselves, why should the fan make the effort to go.

I just read the COTA website and the only banner/poster size that you are allowed to bring is 11"x17", that is absolutely ridiculous! What about If i want to take a larger size poster to be signed? also how do you make a banner that you can read with those dimensions. These guys obviously do not have a clue what a race fan likes to do on these type of events. Needless to say I will not be attending, and I do live in Texas. I much rather spend exta money and go to Laguna or Indy, where they DO understand what these events are all about. COTA you may keep the full amount of my $0 dollars from my pocket to you, thanks a lot for kiling the sport that is already considered second class in the United States by way. No wonder Kevin doesn't get along with these clowns.
