Daijiro, I was there when you went down. The news came later that you had gone. My Japanese friend was desperately upset, he said that they'd lost a true hero and future multi world champion. You left us too early. RIP

I had laid off watching MotoGP for a number of years after 1995 (I think my interest waned after Rainey went down) and about 2002 I got the bug again. In 2003 I really decided to get back into the swing and staying up with the racing world and I remember this incident, I was so sad and it was a dreaded reminder of what these guys risk to give us a battle week in and out.

RIP Kato!!! Never forget you!!!

Kato might be gone, but its nice to know he hasn't been forgotten.

Anyhow what an awesome tribute from Gresini to such an talented person like Kato.
