Huge Rossi fan here, but you can't be a title contender without qualifying properly as that will cost many many points over the year..

Congrats to MM, the kid's always been fast, but beating his teammate certainly couldn't have been taken for granted..

Fantastic effort from Marquez, he'd done one lap in 2 02 had he decided to pit, still no one near him apart from Pedrosa. Looking very good for Honda 1-2.

Lorenzo should finish on podium still, Bradl has his work cut out.

Rossi must be devastated, 2.3s behind Marquez, 1s behind Lorenzo and half a second behind Ducati. Only managing to beat CRT by 9 thousands of a second. Will be a tough tough race for him, will do well to finish in top 5 tomorrow.

Marquez is just awesome to watch ,very Stoneresque! , i think Rossi /Burgess are playing a bit of a game here , engine slightly undertuned for qualifying/practice saving the motor a little for the race where it is run slightly overtuned very smart or sneaky ????

It is difficult to decide who is more of a waste of a good racing seat: Rossi or Smith.

Lorenzo had a brain fade, wasted one run by riding through pit to shake off the traffic, but it looked like Yamah does not have the pace to challenge HRC anyway.

Karel Abraham should just retire from racing. Slow and always crashing. At least he did not injure another rider.

MM is awesome around here. Pre season Rossi was poor round here. Not a great qualifier either = 8th but come on he's shown he is still fast, just not a good track for him.
Silverstone will be interesting, he's poor around there too.

Completely agree @ Ich

This new layout doesn't suit him but he can't be a contender by qualifying behind Crutchlow, Bradl and Dovi every race. He really needs to up his game.

@ Genius

Waste of a racing seat : Rossi?

What are you on about? Its qualifying. He struggled all week long, it happens. He knows it better than most of us what he has to do.

Hasn't Qatar taught you anything about Rossi's determination or his pedigree? He won't be a contender on this track, gap is far too big. Cometh race day he'll still finish 4th or 5th.
