looking at the sector times, rossi was 12th out of 12 in sector one times, behind bradley smith! losing 9 tenths in 1 sector to marquez! sectors 2 and 3 he's still quite slow but sector 4 he is quick. think rossi's big weakness is learning the tracks

Rossi will still go well in the race but sadly even as a Rossi fan I have to say that he is now unable to qualify a motorcycle! His race pace is good but you have to qualify well to stand a chance of getting on the podium and he does not have the pace for qualifying and even Rossi will tire of having to get his way past the eight riders in front of him every race. I will go as far as to say if he does not qualify better at Jerez he will go into a terminal decline from there. Its sad but there is no good in having a good race pace starting so far back on the grid. Every dog has its day so they say and I think time is coming up for Rossi, I do think he will race well tomorrow may well finish top four but I think his confidence must be taking a knock when he looks at his qualifying.

If they would of put a dark visor on Marc Marquez on that Honda I would of sworn that was Stoner, what an amazing talent from such a young rider.

Texas put him on equal terms where he didn't have a disadvantage of not knowing the track race lines (compared to a moto 2) and he showed them just how good he is.

Rossi was moaning all weekend and looked baffled Lozenzo and Pedrosa also looked like they were trying to figure out how they were going to stop Marc Marquez once he has a few more races under his belt in the GP class.

Come on a fourth or fifth in race is itself a great result for vale,, he can actually,, think twice before betting against him on race day... To be honest Rossi is seriously poor around this circuit...

Rossi has never been a great qualifier, no? Am I missing something? Or are all you lot just bashing him because you have ready made opinions of him, and by golly, you're going to stick to them.

Awesome from MM,truly awesome.
This is where the 15 minute qualifying is so crutial. You havent got time to make mistakes. It WILL cost you dear.Pedro right up there too.Looking good for Honda.
Yamaha has a hill to climb tomorrow, and they know it.
I would never have forcast Rossi being 8th on the grid. But we all know he races better than he qualifies. As for Lorenzo, rule him out at your peril.
This is shaping up to be a cracking race.
