WOW, I never thought he would admit that he is totally overwhelmed and cannot handle one of the best bikes on the grid. He cannot possibly return next season if he continues to underperform, if Yamaha had no patience for Spies then what can Smith expect?

I think Iannone and Smith did well today. Brand new track for them, new bikes and neither did anything silly. Going into Q1 was the correct thing for both as it allowed more track time, with the potential of more. we are talking about Rookies here, MM is a freak, plus had perhaps any additional 300 laps around here, and may well be classed as the GOAT in due course! To make any judgement on a rookie after 1 race and 1 QP / FP at a brand new track is completely insane. Get them on the european tracks, perhaps after Mugello then make a judgement call. Im pretty sure no one here would like to be judged by an employee after 1 week. Unless you stack shelves or do something completely non skill based and new enviro takes time to adapt to.
