You need to quit the excuses and give credit where it's due.

Cal beat Rossi because he was the better rider on the day and thats a fact.
That he did it with less testing and on a sat bike makes it an even more impressive achievement whether you like it or not.

99 Crystal Ball.

No no no mate, I'm not singling you out. I was talking in the context to general consensus on here in this thread post COTA race. Lot of OTT stuff is being said on here, gibberish being recycled.

In fact you can barely have a decent argument on here. Its agendas, agendas and more agendas.

Coming to Rossi, I'm a massive Rossi fan. The basic reasoning I can give out to you him not being up there with Lorenzo is that Jorge is the best rider in the Premier Class. I'd say Pedrosa is the 2nd best and you could make a good case about Marquez too. But he does belong to that 'breed'. He's still one of them. Not a mid pack, over the hill, washed up guy like most suggest. No one is suggesting he's a god, he's more prone to error at his age than error. Just wish people would show him bit more respect after all he has done in this sport.

for all those saying its not a good track - cry me a river...
its an awesome track... it truly tested the skills of the racer, the tech, and bike it self... Honda came prepared un-like the Yamaha's, and there is/was plenty of over taking places, but no one over took where it was predicated... Dani was toally caught off gaurd and did you see any passing on the stright noooo....they were all in long set of cruves.

Like I said in my earler post, this would be a gap race with the battles in the back... Cal did great battling with Bradl, Beautista battling with Rossi, then Dovi battling with Beautista and gitting 7th. And Dani better learn how to fight if he wants to win a WC, b/c geting passed and doing nothing about is not how you win a WC.

Rossi probably could-a done better, but no one, not even him dint not expect too... Tho everyone is ready to through him under the buss and give Cal his bike...even tho Cals bike is pretty close already and seems to not need it.

Season just got st

Great race by Marquez, although the track apparently favoured the Hondas. A totally deserving win, of course.
What I find strange is how it seems it was more easy fro Marquez to win in MotoGP than in the other classes: in 125 it was expected since he was still learning but when in Moto2 he fell in the first few races while in the MotoGP he mastered it quite quickly and seemingly beat the top guys in the world with more ease. Strange. I know he has the bike advantage as the other 3 guys do, but nonethless it should be more difficult to win in the premier class. Kudos to Marquez, then.

I did say Cal was better on the day and he beat him clean but its just one race where Cal had little going beside him, wait for more races to see whether Cal can get better of Rossi on a consistent basis.

Of course, anything at fault amounts to excuse these days. Current generation for you.

@gally

and did you see any passing on the stright. noooo....they were all in long set of cruves.

that's because the slow bikes could not overtake the fast bikes on the straights. it was a stright drag race there and guess what, the fastest bikes wonlol

Fantastic stuff MM. I see Dovi nearly owned Rossi too. Bet Ducati rue the day they handed $30 million to a donkey that moaned, whined, crashed, and got lapped for two years.

"Can the Rossi fans please stop spewing. This article is about Marquez."

Its hardly Rossi fans who are spewing, no Rossi fan is gloating about his sixth place finish. Its more about the haters who are trying to make as much fun of him as possible.

Congrats to MM on being the youngest winner. Lots of work to do at Yamaha especially at Valentino's side. Only positive he could take out from today is that he brought points. You could say five factory guys finished ahead of him but he really should be reeling them in and beat Crutchlow in most sessions.
