Realistically, he needs to keep it upright and be aiming at top ten and ahead of the satellite Ducati's (behind the 4 Hondas, the other Yamaha and the factory Dukes).

Marquez has proved what an exceptional talent he is....and where does that leave Pedrosa?

Would have expected more from Smith but lets give the guy a bit longer. Crutchlow hardly set the world alight in his first year did he? and was soundly thrashed by Dovi last year but hes now got the bit between his teeth.

Redding? Yes he might be a bit more agressive thats true but we are still waiting for him to win a race in Moto 2 after 3 years.

Smith is in he wrong class, he should be in bsb and would probably do well there. He's a good rider but not exceptional, and you need to be exceptional to get results in Moto GP. I just can't understand why he got this ride? Did his dad buy the seat for him?

If they want a brit on the bike put Johnny Rea on the bike. He has already proved he can beat the crt's and look what he is achieving on a crap bike nearly 20k slower than every other bike on the wsbk grid---NOW THATS COMMITMENT!!!!

@ Darkwaknight I may be an armchair racer now,but I have more races under my belt than you and Julian Ryder ever will have.Ryder is still a journalist and a great enthusiast.I have no idea where he gets the idea that Smith's any good because he has no results to back that up. I am not from the UK,but would still like to see Redding given a shot on a bike that is that competitive
