Didn't Rossi crash out of his first two races in GPs? Then his next result (now I look it up) was 11th place.
That was on the incredibly well sorted Honda stroker with full factory support.
On the other hand Biaggi won his first GP race, but in successive seasons was trounced by Rossi.

Or compare Cal and Toseland on the M1. Cal's first season was rubbish and now he's flying. Toseland started well and petered out.

As Darkwaknight has pointed out, Smith's moto2 ride was the underdeveloped Mistral, even Tech3 admitted it was a dog.
But Smith still managed to just outscore Redding over the two years they were both in moto2 and substantially outscore his team mates.

So I don't get all this negativity.
Except maybe I can understand it when I read some of the anti Stoner and anti Rossi drivel.

For once Crash went to the effort of sourcing some original copy- and Smith goes to the effort of writing a blog. But all some of you can do is whine and complain.

I hope to see Smith impr

Honestly if Rossi (with all his talent) gets negative comments on You have to really expect negative comments about Smith with about 1/8 the talent, and no where near the charisma!
This is an open forum! People can say what they want!
I personally really like to read what people think, doesn't mean I have to agree! As others have said, I would like to hear from riders who are doing something on the track. Once again we all have our own thoughts!

Very well said Ivor bueb! But I think like mine it all falls on deaf ears mate!! Like when smith came from last to second place in his rookie moto 2 season some h8r on here will still say that was luck or had it been anyone else they would have won blah, blah blah!! Fact is he is there on a 2 year deal and all negative posts as much as they hate it have no option but to accept. I am sure given time he will improve and soon!

yes this is an open forum, and tho I agree with you in that everybody has a right to their opinion, seems that their is a lot of bitter people harboring a lot of hate and they are here on crash venting it on whomever for what ever reason, seems to me to a waist of energy and more over just unhealthy...

another surprize is most people usually pull for the underdog, but in Smith case, it seems appent that people are just bitter, maybe they just dont like the brits,or maybe its that they wanted Espargaro, or Iannone or ??? on a better bike, the real prob is there just aint enough good seats to go around. but haters will hate sad for them but thats life...

Perhaps your right! Maybe everyone should get a ride in MotoGP, then prove they are worth it.
I thought you were supposed to get rewarded the Proto seats for an achievement in the prior class. Three podiums seems a little weak for rewarding. If we are trying to say the reward was for 125, Shouldnt he have shown everyone he was badass in 250 before getting a proto?
Just seems a little weak!
I have always seen potential in Crutchlow, I root for him weekly. So there is your underdog and Britt in one rider.
And it has nothing to do with hate! Just opinion! Its nice he takes the time to write a blog, so kudos there too. Nice guy doesn't equal great rider! Just make him a nice guy!
It will be hard for any rookie to shine this year, they will all be shadows to Marquez!
