... But Lorenzo also warns: "When you are 20 years old and a rookie you see things in a different way"

I'm a Vale fan but Lorenzo is SUPER STRONG and in his prime. Lot of people saying " Lorenzo finished" which is very stupid. He is the strongerst rider on the grid at the minute and I believe he will win WC this season again. I want Vale to win but won't stick my neck out to say he will. He's 34!! Please prove me wrong Old Fella.

Ich....pressed send by mistake. It's so difficult to compare riders from different era's. Lorenzo is the strongest and the rider that I feel has challenged Rossi's head more than anyone over the years really. Rossi shouldn't really be riding at his age, in this era, but he is and can and will be challenging I'm sure if Qatar is anything to go by. Rossi is still the best I have seen over the many years of watching. Lor will need to win the WC 5 times in the next 7 yrs to match Rossi's record by the time they were both 30 or 31 ?? He could do it, but probably not. That's how good Rossi has been and still is I hope.

Looks like horhay is trying some mental stuff on marq, I think he's definately feeling the heat. this kid is the real thing, maybe a rookie in MotoGP, but not a rookie racer. Looks like a real battle with these two, Pedro and Crutchlow will fight for crumbs. Val won't even be in it...last yr. for him.

Angus,
I'm not saying Jorge is better than Vale, I don't think anybody is better than Vale at his top (maybe around the same for the best in history), just saying that *today* Joerge is the best overall out there.

Personal opinion:
At this top, Vale would have had around the same pace in most tracks (some more tracks a bit faster, less tracks a bit slower), but he would have beaten Joerge more times than not (many more times than not) in last lap dogfight.

"It's so difficult to compare riders from different era's. "

It's only "diffcult" if you're a fan of someone who is at the bottom of the list. Simple fact is you can and it is recorded. The only yardstick that matters, despite the few variables, are number of championships. Not the number of championships between two riders but the number of championships among all riders in all eras. Meaning all time records. Unfortunately for you your mate the quitter has only a couple and that's why you're having a hard time accepting or what you deviously call "comparing".
