Pedrosa has achieved what he has because 1 - he's been riding a Respol Honda his entire career, 2 - he has a huge weight advantage

if it wasn't for these (game changing) variables, Pedrosa would be a midpack rider at best.

Sorry Puig, but Schwantz is right. Also why not let Pedrosa fight his own battles before you look like a tool trying to play the savior

Pedrosa has been on a championship winning bike/team his entire motogp career with the possible exception of 2007 (Stoner/Ducati/Bridgestones). I would not say the same for Schwantz since the only year the suzuki was truely competative was 1993. The other years it was an underpowered, ill handling widowmaker.

The other thing about the current modern era is that the number of competative bikes out there capable of winning is relagated to the repsol hondas or the factory yamahas. That makes a difference.

The fact is the Pedrosa of today is a better rider than any other rider that has ridden in Motogp in the 21st century that isn't named Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner, or M.Marquez. Only these four can be argued to be better than him. Rossi, Agostini, Doohan, Stoner, Hailwood, Lawson, Schwantz, Lorenzo, Rainey are the only riders in the history of motogp that have won more races than Pedrosa, and all of these men are consider to be Motogp legends. So does this make Pedrosa rubbish ? No it doesn't. All it means is that Pedrosa lacks that last little last bit that would put him on an equal footing with the rest of them. He is still an excellent rider........

............ When he retires he can tell his grand children one day that there was a time when he raced against some of the very best bike riders in history and won quite a few races a against them. How many of the thousands of riders that competed in the sport can say that ? Not many ! Besides all those wins and legendary feats by our sports legends wouldn't mean anything if they wouldn't have had some damn good riders to beat. It's just unfortunate for Pedrosa that he seems to be one of them.

So Mr. Schwatnz opens his mouth and gets b!tch slapped back by Mr. Puig.

Priceless.

I'm glad to see that Mr. Puig was sticking up for his rider, as he should.

Too much emphasis is put on winning the championship. Yes, it is the holy grail and the ultimate goal, but last I checked there is only one championship winner per year. Not winning hte championship does no indicate that a rider is without talent or does not deserve a factory ride.

I guess if Dani pulls of the championship this year his statistics will outshine Mr. Schwantz.

First i think Dani is a great rider but it's a fact that after 8 years on a works bike he has not won the Moto gp title. I think time has ran out for him he would not be on a Repsol bike if Stoner had retired would he. Honda must think Casey won on it first time out so why didn't Dani with all his experience on the same bike and now they have Marquez who most see as a potential World Champion. I think Dani needs to move on (or may be he will be forced forced) to try another manufacturer if
he can see what he can do on a different bike. I don't know much about Puig but he always seems to be telling Dani what to do and seems to think he knows whats best for him maybe Dani needs to think for himself now to up his game. I do however agree partialy with Puig when he says that "the series is worth nothing without Valentino Rossi" maybe nothing is to strong but Moto gp will sustain a big hit in popularity and income when he goes.

Pedrosa is one of those best rider outthere, he only luck is lady luck on his side, like hoe Hayden won his title, because lady luck was on his side , why Rossi crash on the last race of the season, thats how he won his championship
Pedrosa last year if not of bautista maybe the result migth be different, the pressure on Lorenzo would be greater.
