8 years on a factory bike is a long time indeed, but look at the number of podiums and wins. His numbers far surpass Nicky's. Don't get me wrong, as I'm American & always root for Nick, Colin & Ben. It's also true that a title is something much easier to remember, but I won't ever forget how good a rider Dani is, and that's all that I personally care about. Also, I'd like to see what he could do on another make. He's a decent guy & hope to watch him for many years to come.

To be fair to Kevin he didnt actually say that Dani was a bad rider.
And as others have said, Kevin won a title and neither Dani nor Puig have.
I don't think Dani did himself any favours with fans in the early days when he appeared to be totally characterless....that has changed now and he actually comes across as a pretty decent guy.
But being a nice guy doesnt win races...

Schwantz was an alien on a POS Suzuki. Dany is king of the fuel savers, always in the slipstream, I thought with the the tightening fuel limits he would come into his own. But it looks like MM has learnt a trick off DP.

Puig is 100% correct
The fact is last year was the 1st year Dani wasnt riddled with DNFs due to injury and last year he was in contention the entire year.
If the rider gets hurt he cant win the title look at Stoner in 2012

Good job Puig

He he, it's tipical from puig, he always will defend his pilot, saying crap when hayden won the title, now is attacking again because another collegue told about of reason than Dani has spent eight years on the main team and didnt won the title, in essence eight year of failures and eight years about finding excuses for his failures, but now theres another chance for dani to seek redemption himself or as in other years, try to justifies an upcoming failure now than mr marquez is his team mate.

Schwantz shouldn't have said that Pedrosa "never won anything". He won everything except a world championship in the MotoGP class. It was really nonsense statement.

But Puig's reaction is very pitiful. He should have been a gentleman and keep his mouth closed. It's very wrong to go into this quarrel.

Ex-Suzuki Factory rider Kevin Schwantz berates Repsol Hondas Dani Pedrosa.
Response:
Alberto Puig has put it perfectly Mr Schwantz, you were always in 'the shade' of such Legends as Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey. Legend incidentally, was a status you never quite managed to achieve.
Your 1993 World Title was 'handed to you on a plate' by Wayne Rainey, following the crash in which he was unfortunately paralysed and sadly no longer able to complete in the sport. The record books for 1993 may state you won the title, but the history books depict how in 1993, Wayne was cruisin' to his fourth (4th) 500cc World Title when tragedy struck. A tragedy that only 'you' gained from.
As a 'has been' or to most a 'never was', you are in no position to criticise any riders past or present.
Whatever happened to the manufacturer you raced for ? They seem to have ridden off in to the MotoGp sunset. Perhaps you'd like to join them.

I think Kevin is correct,Pedrosa will go down as the most successful rider to never win a MotoGP title(unless he pulls it together this season),Im amazed he has lasted this long and lets face it,if Stoner had not retired Pedrosa would have been out at Repsol Honda.
Puig is just trying to save his gravy Train and I can't blame him,I say at this point in Dani's career he probley should think about making a Management change,And really he doesn't need a Mentor, this is his 8th year of racing in the premier Class????
