Pre-event expectations favour Yamaha first and George,Dani and Valentino secondly in no particular order. Of course Marc will be up there, but a yard or so off the other three over race distance I expect. Why?. COTA was an entirely different kettle of to Jerez. The old guard know Jerez on a GP prototype and will carry that through the weekend. Marc's best chance is a Qatar like podium on paper right now.
Mind you he is full of surprises. I would not mind at all seeing another one.

I would like to know when did Ducati became the measuring stick by which champions are measured. As far as I'm concerned Stoner as good as he was maneged only to win all but 1 champioship with them and went down hill after that tothe point that he bailed out and went to Honda, because the freaking bike kept getting worst. Not putting Stoner down, but we can all agree that he came to Ducati at the right time in 2007, and yes he is a good rider, but every year following 07 he won less and less on that bike. And I will go as far as to say that if was to jump on his 09 Ducati or todays bike he wouldbe riding around somewhere between 5-8 place. Pure and simple, and not because of a lack of talent, but because of the bike.

Interesting thoughts all, but the advantage of Honda's seamless shift is all gone with the flowing track that suits the Yamaha's a bit better let's hope for a decent race. The season started quite good with good battles at the front or let's say for the remaining podiums and CotA well all that I'm going to say is that it was a disappointing race if you like big battles for the win. Normally Qatar isn't the real season opener not much atmosphere different circumstances and I would say the season is finally going to begin this weekend. Rossi proved to be fast too early to say what will happen but podium for sure.

Rossi will be strong here that's as far as I want to go with it for now, ask me again after qualifying. If he qualifies in the top 4 then he's in with a shout for sure as long as he doesn't over tweak something on the setup again. I think he will go with what he knows is a good setup from testing and rely on his craft to to the rest, I hope he can put a fight up to Lorenzo because I think JLo is thinking more about the threat from MM. As for MM don't rule him out being in the mix for the win. DP is an uncertainty for me at the moment as he has been shaken.

re: "Rossi also revealed that Yamaha will stay at Jerez to test. “Furthermore on Monday after the race we will be testing there and we'll have the opportunity to try different things.”
