"Jerez will be a very important race. I believe and hope that we can be very fast as we have been in testing" - Valentino Rossi.

Rossi will be fast at Jerez, no questions.

However, he is not going to qualify higher than fifth and that is going to be the decisive factor.

There's nobody out there who can begin to rival his race craft, but sadly Rossi seems to have lost that genuine 'one hot lap' pace.

My prediction: barring crashes, VR will qualify 5th or 6th, and then charge through the field to finish 3rd or 4th.

Valentino has never been one for pole positions in qualifying. He always does better in a race than his grid position - one of the things he does best - picking riders off one by one to get up to the front. Valentino will finish in the top 3 on Sunday and I actually think he will win - top 3 I think will be Rossi, Marquez, Lorenzo with a real nail biter of a last lap!!

Dr. Abbas, how the hell can you say the Quatar race was boring?? The last few laps with Valentino and Marquez had me on the edge of my seat - they were brilliant! Austin, yes, it was getting back to the kind of racing we have been used to, but things will be different this week, just watch my friend and you will see!

Yamaha have won at Jerez 5 of the last 8 races,so the track does seem to favour them slightly. That doesnt mean they are guaranteed to win obviously. But they should have more of an edge shall we say, just as the Hondas did in Texas.
As for the guys on row 3 of the grid being 30 feet behind the leaders, that is true. And that 30 feet has often made the difference between winning and losing.
The guy at the far end of the the 3rd row still has 8 bikes in front of him to get passed hasnt he?

@46 excuses,

To quote 99 crystal from another thread,

"As i said, what has this thread got to do with Ducati?
We werent even talking about Ducati or their riders."

"So what point are you trying to make?"

Im disappointed you didnt highlight 46's off-topic posting? ? ?

At a guess, you are probably the 1 agree to boot....

LOL, so funny:)

He needs to win this weekend otherwise his GOAT status is gone and we will see his decline in a sad fashion.

I hope he wins but I think others have his mark and he no longer has a hold over other riders anymore.

Still lets see if he has his magic

I would love to see Rossi win in Jerez but he has 3 Spanish riders that will be trying their best to beat each other in front of the home crowd plus Rossi usually doesn't have great results at this track. If he gets a podium he would have done well but obviously a win would be great.

Honda's have shown to be consistent at all tracks starting about middle of last season. So while Yamaha may have a little edge in testing at Jerez I wouldn't think it will be that much of a difference when the lights go out and the race starts. Should be a battle or so I hope.
