2 year contract? I am almost positive its a one year deal for spies at ducati with POSSIBLY an option for a 2nd year.. I'm like 99% sure its just a 1 year deal though..

Bens career is like a never dieing bad guy who's been shot in a B movie

Ahhhhhh my shoulder......

Poor Ben....

I can be positive for the next race....

Ok Ben ....please don't keep on...

In the next few races ill be 100%.....

You still here, go back to wsbk and be in with a chance of winning instead of hoping for a "solid" tenth place.

No shame in winning at WSBK

Pramac Ducati rider Ben Spies is missing the race through injury. I guess he was not really fit for Austin last time out, but felt he could not miss his home race.
We see riders racing with broken bones quite often but I am aware that a shoulder injury can be horrendous. If you have not ridden a grand prix bike you cannot understand just how much strain is put on your upper body.
A broken leg can be screwed, it can be plated, it can be immobilised. But with a muscle injury, a torn ligament, there is nothing you can do. If you do not rest an injury like that it could end his season. He has to let it heal.
He will be missing but it should be a great race. Let us hope the weather is good and we have a level playing field for them all.
Steve's Jerez prediction: 1. Dani Pedrosa 2. Jorge Lorenzo 3. Marc Marquez

100% one year deal, like NH.

A shoulder injury, especially a significant injury as it seem Spies had is very bad news for any athlete. Perhaps particularly considering the forces that come into play when riding a GP bike. Anatomically the shoulder is a very complex system of bone, cartilage, muscle and tendons, and is responsible not only for supporting and articulation of the arm, but for supporting the head, upper spine and a substantial portion of the upper body mass. Surgically fixing a smashed shoulder is likely a big time surgical procedure Seems some of the posts are implying Spies is faking it or just a wimp. I'm fairly certain neither of those things is the case. Like to see Spies recover well and soon. Wishing him luck and success. We'll see...
