I get tired enough of hearing bike excuses from Cal himself now his fans are starting.

Dovi stuffed it passed him many times on the breaks last season - the cause according to Cal was Dovi bought better callipers - then it came out that Stoner was also running the older design the same as Cal.
Rossi passes into turn 1 can call runs in way too deep to be able the respond. The cause according to Cal - Rossi had more power - no mention of messing up the corner exit or outbreaking himself.

If he learns to pass and stops getting hung up on the spec of the bike we'll see him on the podium a lot this season.
While I do appreciate his honesty even if I think it's misguided, stopping slagging off the bike will also make him more appealing to the manufacturers.

I like Cal and think he's got giant balls of brass, but you can't win a race going balls-out (like we say back home). Cal is great at riding a lap on the limit, and you can ride on the limit for one lap, maybe 5, or even 10 if lucky. But riding a race on the absolute limit has only been done a few times by the very best, and is usually a recipe for mistakes. One reason Cal finds it so hard to overtake is because he's pushing it all the time and knows darn well that to make the move would be to push his luck too far. He is doing really well and riding way above what his talent allows, but that's about it that we can expect from Cal. Unfortunately, if he doesn't win a race this season then he probably never will. I'm would have liked if he had Hector Barbera as his team mate - fans we would have had a much better season.

Yes, maybe the tech3 bike is not the same as factory m1 but the difference is not big for him not to pass the factory honda and yamaha.

there is something missing in Cal that's need to be polish. obviously it is not his bike.

some different parts from factory yahama has not yet proven to be an 'upgrade' until they run away from their satellite bike.

Cal is very good over a single lap. It's his major strength. This was also the case in World Superbike. His race pace in general is has also improved a lot. But he isn't very good at late breaking. There were several times last year where Cal was stuck behind Dovi all race without passing him once. He seems to have trouble passing riders that have similar pace to him. The spec of his Yamaha has nothing to do with it in that regard. His engine is the same spec as the factory Yamaha. And his chassis is the one Lorenzo won the title with last year. So it's not a bad combo by any means.

Cal Crutchlow, Yamaha's unofficial fastest rider. Too bad Jarvis and Team Yamaha are backing Lorenzo, wonder if he can get enough sponsorship to break the political glass ceiling in GP racing.

Tech3 garage has done exceptionally well in giving the best possible bike for cal,, he too has improved a lot but not only in single fast lap,, still struggling with consistency and battling... He is 98% ok but the remaining 2% is the most toughest to perfect... So for now he needs to improve not the bike, can't say that factory satellite comparison,, he seriously lacks something... Best example is despite having more poisons he got beaten by Rossi on ducati last year at final championship standings...
