Down in this part of the world ( Australia / NZ ) we give our up and coming riders, total unconditional support, the success of Australian riders reflects this. I cannot believe the amount of English Rossi fans who are knocking Crutchlow ! Cal is the best English rider since Sheen and the best chance of an English win in the premier class in many many years. To say that his bike is the same as a factory bike is delusional.Take down your Rossi posters and put new Crutchlow ones up.

dovi did well last year, but when exactly he matched or topped the fastest guy.
cal has improved immensly this year and simple logic tells as days pass gap between fac and sat bike widens, so oviously last year bike was much closer to fac bike.

For an accurate assessment and opinion of Cal no-one is more qualified than JLo and VR46. These are the riders who know the specification of Cal's bike, and what it has and what it hasn't. They both rate him highly and often say so. And when VR46 talks of doing endurance racing, Cal is the one he names as his chosen partner. This speaks volumes about the high regard which Yam's factory riders have for Cal.
Now let's consider NOT what Cal says, but the underlying message which he is sending out. What is he going to say when someone sticks a mike under his nose? Will he say his bike is the same as the riders who are beating him? Or will he say he could do much better if his machinery was up to par? He desperately wants a factory ride so the purpose of whatever he says is purely to enhance his opportunities. It's the smart thing to do.

@Don-R
that was an excellent read on MCN (Cal Crutchlow impresses Yamaha with fast form) I wish more crash Cal vrs factory debaters would read it as it would squash the debate of same bike same chassis etc bs

the fact that the factory engineers came to look at his data sheets says a lot.... and I like Cal's candor when talking with Jorge about the different chassis they use...

interesting that they want to retest his chassis after what JL said...while Cals' probably itching to his hands on on of theirs... either way Cal, and more over his techs, are doing an amazing job, honestly I think its b/c of his crew that he is doing so well, as like his said himself "I still need to improve" and given time Im sure he will.

Gave up reading the comments in the end, you experts are very funny.

At the end of the day he is finishing week in week out in front of every other bike on the grid apart from the repsols and the factory Yam, you cant do anymore. If you ask him he will tell you the bikes are very similar but ffs get a grip people at this level the tiniest difference will finish you, its a fact all you have to do is look at the laptime gap from 1st to 8th.

And enough with the Dovi cr@p he's had all his chances ive said it before if he was on an anti gravity space bike he would still finish 4th

Idiots honestly.

The most promising British rider since, well, Sheene!

I like Cal, modest and a true underdog, going out and doing his best without a factory ride and in the process making some of the more fancied riders look a bit average!

And I am not even a Pom.
