And who's seat exactly would Simoncelli have gotten at Repsol had there been no rookie rule ? Daniel Pedrosa's ? Andrea Doviziso's ? The fact is neither ! Simoncelli would never have gotten a Repsol seat in 2010, simply because Repsol had 2 better more experienced riders. And Spies was never gonna get a factory Yamaha seat in 2010, since they were occupied by Rossi and Lorenzo. You obviously didn't really think it through

jjthekid46,i think you summed the situation up there in a nutshell mate.
The rookie rule was never particularly popular with a lot of people,but as you say,the factory seats in 2010 were already taken!

It looks like Marc has found a good setup for the race. Fastest in warm-up by .2 and did a series of laps under 1:49.5. Pedroso is also only a couple of tenths off Lorenzo but not as consistently fast as Jorge.

The surprise was Espargaro in 4th spot on the times until the last few minutes when he got bumped to 6th - ahead of Vale.

This looks like being a great race.
