Crap move by Marquez. He wouldn't have made the corner if Lorenzo wasn't there, so I don't see how you can call the move brilliant. It's not as if they just barely touched, he plowed into Lorenzo. Lorenzo took it like a champ. I know it's easy to to tell him to stop whining from your couch, but it must be insanely difficult to keep it together after someone spears you with a 300+ pound piece of metal.

I really like Marquez, but I just can't stomach a rider using another rider as a wall.

Kiwibob, you pull off a move like that at a track day and i guarantee you will be picking up your teeth off the floor before you leave the track.

An open door means you can go through with a tighter line than the guy in front. It does not mean that you can choose any line you want. Marquez didn't go through the door.

Watch the last lap Rossi vs Gibernau 2005 and see two top class racers railing turns inches apart and swapping the lead each time. They ran out of room. Watch Marquez and see a snot nosed brat weaving around like his first fast drive in dads car. It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it. Check the video on moto gp and see the look on his own fathers face, nothing more needs to be said.

It's completely reasonable ask how this compares to Simoncelli. There were times that Simoncelli's moves were ballsy but admirable, and I'd consider this to be in a similar light.

That said, this was the last corner, last chance. Lorenzo gave him an opportunity that couldn't be ignored. This is championship racing, not golf.
