If you are disappointed now, it's still not the time to give up on Rossi. Give him full support for half of this season and after that we will see how his level is.
I think he needs some time to understand the bike and the level of competition after two years without competition.

Sete Gibernau
Max Biaggi
Marco Melandri

Among these guys Rossi was a master.

Against Stoner, Pedrossa, Lorenso and Marquez he is just another pretty good rider, and an old one at that.

A riders' abilities or less of it is exposed by the number of championship he has. Rossi has nine championships and the rest has? Well not even close. At the end of the day that's how it is.

This is a track Valentino used to dominate at and for the most par with ease. As others have said, I was expecting him to be much closer to the front. Sadly I must admit, that after all the offs and injuries Val has suffered, he has indeed slowed a step or two.

I think realistically we can expect maybe one or two more victories at the most before he rides off into the sunset. As for him being a legit title contender, I just don't see it at this point in his career. I think a lot of us Rossi fans are a bit disenchanted and have forgotten just how fast he used to be. Time catches up with every man.

I will support him no matter what but I think what he has lost possibly from the injuries, the Duc and Simo is the willingness to take risks. Plus I think Honda have made a march as this was a pretty dominant display at a track tthat is arguably a Yam track. However Rossi only finished 3 secs behind Jorge so about 1/10th of a second per lap over race distance. Hardly earthshattering, and I still think we will see improvement as the season goes on. Also Lin Jarvis response in relation to the incident and Jorge's reaction was interesting

really????after traffic, headache, lost a part of disc finally acknowledged the truth.

@for all yellow panty brigade: remember
1)80% bike 20% rider
2)we can toon it in 80 seconds.
say the things aloud so u feel better and last remember what a great rider said to this pu$$y:
"AMBITION OUTWEIGHED TALENT"

Whether Your a Rossi Fan Or not it is obvious he should have stopped after his accident in 2010 .......

I personally did not like some of Rossi's actions and Antics on Track Yet in Reality in his time he was a great Rider adding value and excitement for us Who were watching His early years were fantastic to watch

I have never enjoyed the Fans Dissing any rider For me the nonsense started with Demeaning Hayden and Continued on to Stoner (both Great Riders) then on this site Became a rubbish battle from Rossi Fanboys which in turn Caused a reaction from Stoner Fanboys

I hope for Rossi's sake he retires in Good Health with his Fantastic effort Job well done of 9 world Championships and does not do a Rainey a Doohan Gardner Or Lawson wait for a horrendous Accident to end his career So the good memories stay .......

First of all, please excuse me if i say sg not right, i am not an expert. But can't go pass unnoticed the height difference these guys have.
Everyone says Rossi got Spies' bike. Well, Spies is 181 cm and Rossi is 182. (He is the second tallest on the MotoGP grid this year).
So we remember how much poor Spies suffered last year on that Yamaha. Now Rossi got it. He seems to suffer a bit too. (Let's pretend he still has the ability to ride as fast as the guys at the front).
Jorge is 172, Pedrosa is 160 and Marquez is 168.
Is there a possibility that Yamaha has improved their bike solely to suit Lorenzo, who is 10 cm smaller than Rossi or Ben, so now Rossi struggles as Ben used to?
