On equal machinery, I believe Vale is still a notch above riders like Dovi, Cal, Bradl & Bautista, who've all seemingly peaked already. However, his broken leg in '10, followed by the rough time he had at Ducati have him feeling very human. I just hope he can make the podium on a regular basis and stay in the top four in points through his contract term. He doesn't have to win to be exciting to watch! Qatar proved that.

Why does everyone expect so much? The Yamaha is a very precise motorcycle that needs time to setup correctly. Unlike the Honda that is so evolved that dialing it in seems to be a tweak here and a tweak there. Even Lorenzo who is used to the thing, couldn't keep pace with Pedrosa. Rossi is methodical in his approach and once dialed in will be closer to the pointy end. It will happen, it just may take some time.

Tedg, if he hasn't "dialed it in" by now after all the pre-season testing and races, how much longer are we going to have to wait?? at the rate he's going, hopefully by seasons end he will be back in tune and ready to contend for the title for 2014..
