Rossi was complaining about lack of rear grip , rewind to 2010 and he was also complaining about rear grip at a lot of tracks. What can Yamaha do? Not a lot they are skint. Yes Lorenzo. Won title last season but Honda were shafted with the tyre change early on. Honda have won 13 of the last 16 races !

Honda have won 13 of the last 16 races.....get a grip.

Yes but that hasnt won them the title has it?
People need to learn that it isnt race victories in a season that necessarily wins you the title, but how many points you accumilate.
I would rather have 18 second place finishes if it meant i had enough points to lift the trophy!
At the end of the day,its the title you are after and how you get there doesnt matter.
As golfer Lee Trevino once quipped after a very ragged final round which won him the U.S Open,'they dont draw pictures on the score card son'!
Truer words were never spoken!

To almost everyone who commented, please take a chill pill..its only been 3 races, the season is long and the 1st half is always complicated as we see the yahama engineers for example still trying to find the limits of the bike n understanding of this so-called new n old chassis...

Bottom line,we'll see the true contenders after race 8..by then the championship will be different to what it is now n we will know the true contenders..don't judge right now

@99 Yup Jorge won the title last year but not with the best bike, he made hay while the Hondas chattered on the new Bridgestone tyres . Honda now have the better bike , Lorenzo is fighting hard but Rossi can't raise it to the same level.

Lorenzo finishing 1-2 at every race focked Honda deep in 2012.

Honda riders fell and Lorenzo didn't.

That's what won Yamaha the championship. Having the most consistent rider in their team.

The engineers develop the bike, people who believe the riders do are deluded after smoking what the commentators pass around,,, engineers built a decent bike for Rossi, now they are building it for Jorge. Just how it is.

Pretty sure rossi said lorenzo and the forcada crew did a good job developing the bike. And if anyone knew the real deal, we would be discussing how tires have changed the bikes. Yamaha stretched the wheelbase of the m1 longer mainly for the new bridgestones for 2012 season. There's a whole lot more to it than what's being thrown around here

Riders give feedback, i.e this works, this doesn't, this is better, this is worse, the bike understeers, the bike hops when going into a corners while braking hard...etc.
The engineers take that feedback and make changes to try and improve or fix based on the feedback.
In the Lorenzo case, his feedback steers the development in a direction that suits him best. And if the engineers know their stuff, they can get the bike to work like the rider likes it. So of course the bike after two years is the way Lorenzo likes it. It is not the wrong direction, if it worked for Lorenzo it is a good direction.
Rossi likes it different(as he should), so it will take the engineers time to learn what he wants. Yamaha has limited resources compared to Honda, so things don't always go as quickly or as smoothly and one would hope.
