Marquez would not have made the corner without using Lorenzo as a berm. Yes, Lorenzo left the door open, but Marquez didn't position himself to take the inside line. He came in too hot, and heading across the racing line and off the track. Lorenzo had already initiated his weight transfer, and was committed to his turn. There was nothing he could do, and he had no track to ride in, because Marquez couldn't make a racing line without transfering a significant off-track momentum vector to Lorenzo's bike. That is anything but a clean pass.

Rossi T-boned Gibernau in 05, and Marquez bermed Lorenzo in 13. These moves make exciting racing for fans that see MotoGP as a blood sport, but not to those that value rider skill. It's one thing to bang fairings, it's quite another to knock a rider off the circuit. This isn't roller derby.

So, all those saying it was just a racing incident, how was it different to when Bautista came into turn 1 at Assen a bit too hot, and bumped Lorenzo off the tra

I know these fiery Spaniards and I understand why he was pissed(who wouldn't be??) I think he could have had a tad bit more composure after the incident. He would have spared himself and Marquez all of this negative press. I'm not saying what happened was generated some spicy headlines
It seems like after the heat cooled down, JLo acknowledged his mistakes and this takes integrity to admit. Jorge has become such a statesman for the sport and as he has matured he has gone out of his way to foster relationships with other riders. There is no rivalry and there won't be. These guys are all competitive and I see nothing wrong with being a little wild. Don't you have to take risks in this sport? Rossii has several times in his career and people love him for it. I know I do.

I don't think Marquez did anything terrible, he saw a gap and went for it. If Jorge had kept a tight line then Marquez wouldn't have been able to stuff it up the inside.
Jorge knew this which is why he refused to comment in parc ferme (sp?) even though he was obviously spewing.

On the other hand Marquez has a history of ill judged overtaking manoeuvres in moto2 and I'm sure the Spanish haven't forgotten.

well, it seems that Marquez is back to his old moto-2 style after a small "brake-in" time his respect is back to the original low level: so we're up for some interesting races. See who pays the price.

plain dumb to consider the maturity of an 11-year old a balanced reference for "what racing is about"....what a joke.
