MotoGP » Official: MotoGP to BT Sport in new UK TV deal

BT Sport to take over live MotoGP TV coverage in the UK from 2014 - new channels available FREE to BT Broadband customers.

Sort Comments: Oldest | Newest

I knew this was coming and it still hurts! One thing for sure is that the audience here in the UK will be minimal compared to what it is now. That's Dorna and BT's problem now so without sounding crass, EFF THEM!!!

So, for us who are not going to be paying extra to see our beloved sport, I urge you all to go to:

wiziwig.tv

...and follow the links for installing AceStream. There you will find a ton of sports and you'll be guaranteed to get MotoGP in high quality right on your desktop. I'm currently watching the IIHF World Championships @ 4000 Kbps. Plug your laptop via HDMI into your TV and it's HD all the way... and FREE!

If Dorna/BT want to screw us loyal fans out of our beloved sport, then we screw them right back and we'll watch illegal TV streams. Again, go to: wiziwig.tv and follow the links to install ACEStream (or SopCast) and enjoy your sports for free!!!

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!

I am struggling to understand this BT vision only has 750,000 customers in this country and i'm sure not all of those will want to watch motogp, How can that be good for expanding the sport?

@USA

I realise you're only here to give us a good kick in the gut. I suppose you didn't have access to a motogp.com subscription these last decade!

Unless you live here & pay a TV licence you should really MYOB.

I'm interested in Motorbike racing. I'm NOT interested in football or rugby or any of BTSports other offerings, but BT want to charge me for them all. I won't.
I'm not enthused by a choice of camera angles or views or any of those interactive distractions- I just want a professional production team to mix and edit and bring me all the best bits.
Have BT and Dorna forgotten what happened when Bernie Ecclestone offered pay-to-view F1 with all the tricks and options? It failed miserably and the huge sums invested were lost.
I can't get BT broadband, so no solution there.
In the UK's current financial crisis very few enthusiats will want or be able to spend more on their viewing.
I can forsee lack of income from viewers and advertisers will soon compell BT to re-think the situation and maybe permit other broadcasters to transmit MotoGP. BUT- by then the other broadcasters commentary and production teams will have been spread to the four winds.
BT equals Bunch of Toss'rs.

Another big money deal that is made and then justified after money has changed hands, as I live in an area of the UK that BT refuses to supply broadband to this will be the last season I watch as will not be paying for any more channels. A nice big F U from dorna, guess wsbk will be next!
