You already have been Cal!!
The Tech3 team probably knew how much you want a factory bike so decided to sort themselves out and not hang around waitint to see what you were doing next year!

Isn't Bradley Smith on his final year of a two year deal? It strikes me as being far more likely that they'd want to keep Cal over Bradley, if Espargaro has indeed signed. Although, a ride on a works Suzuki or Ducati would surely pay pretty well. What's there to complain about?

I guess, being a Brit, he can't help himself.

I like Cal, but I think his fans need to realize that he is starting to look like a permanent bridesmaid. He's fast, no doubt about that, but this is racing over forty minutes, not a 1 minute hillclimb. It's been said before, but Cal's racecraft is lacking, when compared to his out and out speed. Yes, he's improved during his time at Tech3, but I really don't see him as a championship challenger on a factory bike. Potential occasional race winner, yes, but champion, no.

Obviously Yamaha and Tech3 want to see their riders do the best they can and are probably hurting a little from Smith's poor start to the season. This could just be a way of putting pressure on Cal to try to get him to up his game a little.

Cal, sorry to hear that. When the doors of Yamaha closes for you, surely, a bigger window will be opened.

Factory Honda used to fit 3 riders.
HRC got new bikes for next year (Production Racer)
Suzuki's comeback might as well be your time to shine moment.

Show them this season, what they are about to lose to other teams.
