@Cammyspop
I may be incorrect but Smith is doing better points wise then Crutchlow did at this point in the season during his Rookie year? Cal didnt set the world on fire in 2011 but has turned out to be a top notch motogp rider.

No doubt in the early stages of negotiations with Ducati, Crutchlow did use their interest as a bargaining chip. But things nonetheless progressed from there to the point of a verbal agreement for him to sign, and Ducati bosses even phoned Poncharal to notify him of the deal. But the whole thing came apart at precisely the same time that rumours of Rossi leaving Ducati to go back to Yamaha gathered momentum.

Once it became clear VR was leaving, Ducati knew they needed an accomplished development rider to replace him. Which Cal never was. Hence Dovi.

The whole thing was decided on the grounds of practicality and merit rather than anything said on Twitter.

@RocketR1 my major point was that in his second year of Moto2 Bradders didn't fulfill the promise of his rookie year. Sure his start to this season hasn't been great, but it's more that I doubt Herve would have signed him if he'd waited until september 2012 to make the decision rather than signing him a year earlier.

The reasons why there are so many Spanish riders that are good riders is because a lot of them are born into racing. These lads are learning by age 4. Leaving the late racers in the dust. No doubt your Crutchlows SMith's or Spies are capable. The variance is they dont have the time invested in racing from early birth.

you guys can cry about Cal as much as you want - he is not championship material. 2 podiums in two years on the M1, this year on a factory spec bike - 5th, 6th, 5th in 3 races, 18.7, 7, 12.6 seconds behind the winner!
After seeing what a rookie like Marquez can do in Motogp
they are looking to groom a young gun like Espargaro , the
only guy who could ever challenge and beat Marquez in Moto2. Rightfully so.
