i think cal is a very good rider and can still improve a lot more, Yamaha are just thinking they want to get Espargaro before Honda do so they have to act quick. smith would lose hes seat if it wasn't for the 2 year deal.
but anyway, this is not over for cal as i can see honda offering him a ride.
hes shown this year hes got the skill, he will get the offers for sure.

i agree with shakennstirred there. the only thing that has gone against him and will go against him is that he has complained a lot about
factory support when he should of kept hes head down and cracked on

Cal just talks too much, talked himself out of the Factory Ducati ride and now i think his Tech 3 seat as well.Too bad because he is riding fairly well although if the Ducati's were remotely competitive im not sure where he would rank.Yamaha have seen first hand how good Marquez is and Pol was really the only guy that could battle him in Moto2 last season, they would like to groom him for 2014 when Rossi heads for WSBK with Yamahas new R1.
Cal will land at Suzuki with A.Espargro

@ shakenstirred and Jamie.

Just re read the story please? Now it hardly seems fair to criticise Cal for wanting more factory support when it looks like Espargaro will waltz in and get 'oh that's right?? FACTORY support'!!!!!!

"Cal...talked himself out of the Factory Ducati ride"

That's a complete internet myth. The situation at Ducati had nothing to do with who said what and everything to do with Rossi's decision to leave the team. Had Rossi not left, then Cal would have joined the team as planned. VR's departure turned everything on its head and left the team with potentially no development continuity, hence the cancelling of the proposed line-up.
