Seems like Cal screwed himself thinking he held all the cards in his hand and was being clever signing only a 1 year contract to keep his options open with the assumption Tech3 would have nobody to replace him. Now it seems like he could be replaced by Pol and he is crying to the media about it. It seems that he thinks he is a lot more valuable than he is in reality, he hasn't won anything for Yamaha, and so is replaceable and just another quick rider that has come and gone at Tech3

So if we are to believe the rumours, Pol to Tech 3 for a year and then onto a factory bike. Who will he replace? I can't see Yamaha getting rid of Lorenzo, so that just leaves Rossi. Feeling like deja vue from 3 years ago. Except this time it wont be his own doing. Really feel bad for Cal amongst all this. He's easily been the best of the rest so far this season and as a reward for riding the **** off the non factory supported M1, he gets the flick! Terrible decision even if Pol is more than deserving of getting a seat on a prototype machine next year.

If Cal hadn't been consistently bested by Dovi when they were teammates he would have a lot more leverage in negotiation. It's hard to look past the fact that he couldn't beat Dovi on equal equipment, while Dovi couldn't beat Pedrosa & Stoner on equal equipment. That just doesn't give the impression that Cal is ever going to be a championship challenger, especially when his satellite bike is close enough to the factory bikes in spec that he can put it on the front row.
