Cal is talented but a big whinning baby, he's lucky his bike is basically a factory bike with different colors and quite a bit of support from Yamaha based on the Tech3 boss. As Honda and Yamaha are set with their factory riders through 2014 Cal if he wants factory will have to look elsewhere i.e. Ducati or possible returning factory such as Suzuki or Kawi if they plan on returning. I don't blame Tech 3 for keeping their eyes open for new talent.

As much as I like him, he needs to shut up for a few rounds and let the riding do the talking.
3 rounds in and he's writing himself out of it....

Cmon Cal HoneyBadgers don't talk!

It may be likely that Cal and B. Smith will be gone as well unless Bradley has a two year contract but can't see that as this is the last year of Tech3's contract with Yamaha.

“Yamaha are potentially going to sign Pol and Tech 3 will have to take him for the first year” before a move to the factory team...Herve Poncharal.

Does he know something noone else does?
Who is he going to replace in the Factory squad after one year?
Lorenzo or Rossi??????????

Pol should replace Rossi, there really isnt any doubt on that, Rossi shouldnt even bother with Lorenzo's bike, there is much more glory to be had on an R1 in WSBK MUCH MORE. An Italian tire maker even supplies the tires, how hard is it for Rossi to win in WSBK, a lot less than Japan/Spain GP's if you ask me.

LMAO

Yes, there is so much glory going to WSBK to beat a bunch of GP refugees and riders not good enough to make the GP podium.

HUGE glory.

This is a tough situation...but on some level I think Cal has hurt his relationship with Yamaha with his words. I can see him growing as a rider, but like everyone else has said, he needs to do that talking with results.

Anyone ready Ben Spies twitter comments to Cal? Looks like the two of them might have a mutual irritation towards the factory. I can't imagine Ben would say what he did if the two hadn't previously talked about it.

Last year Cal was repeatedly told by Ducati that the contract was ready - he would get it in a few days etc. that dragged on and on.

The guy is a professional racer in probably the most dangerous profession in the world - he maybe has another 3 to 5 years left in which to earn good money provided that he doesn't retire through injury.

The Tech 3 gig hardly pays anything so of course he wants a factory ride with a big salary and more lucrative leather and helmet deals that come from being a factory rider.
