LOL at the fair weather fans who want this guy out just because of the standings. Ok, in that case, since he's currently ahead of Dovi, Hayden, Iannone, Spies, Bradl, etc., then all those guys should be cut as well. Heck, cut everyone who's not on a factory Honda or Yamaha.

News flash: Bradl is on a factory backed ride, and Bautista is rocking the only Showa + Nissin setup, and he's still keeping pace.

Honda knows something that some of you do not: he is one of the only riders who is willing to push those experimental parts to the limit. If you watched the races instead of checking the motogp stats page, you'd see this guy just flat out competes, even when his machine is all out of shape.

He doesn't need to be demoted - he needs a better ride!

Pushing the bike to its limits? Why then in 3 years in gp has he only scored 2 podiums?? Maybe its HIS limits that are the problem.. And yes it is time for Bradl to get the axe if he doesn't get at LEAST a single podium this season. Just listen to this sentence: a former moto2 champion in 2011 cant get even a single podium after 2 years in gp. pathetic eh? While marquez hasnt yet finished OFF the podium!! He and Alvaro are both prime examples of riders who did superb in the lower classes, but simply cannot cut it in gp. As for Hayden spies iannone, come on they are on ducatis which may as well be glorified crt's. with a rider like Alvaro we will never know what his bike is truly capable of.

Why don't you go and look at the record books and see exactly who has podiumed in these last few years. Bautista is part of the MINORITY who have, and he does it on a bike that's even below your typical SATELLITE spec.
Don't bring up Marquez, it makes you sound even more ridiculous. He's a GENERATIONAL talent on a FULL FACTORY ride.
Hayden, Spies, Iannone, Dovi - they're all on a Ducati that podiumed last year, so don't go complaining that they're on "CRT" machines. When was the last time a CRT was on the actual podium?
There are a handful of riders who stand a chance at making the podium every weekend, and those riders are given superior machines. The rest of the riders are amazing as well, but they are limited - especially Baustista who is provided unproven gear.
You say that Bradl needs at least one podium. Ok, so Bautista got two on a lesser machine. By your logic, he's worthy of his ride.

6789, he joined in 2010, since then 10 riders have podiums (9 current if you take out stoner).. Plenty. And the Ducati had had what 4 podiums in the last 2 years (a few of them flukes due to riders crashing out) so my point stands on that. And ok il say he has a better bike than Bradl and does deserve to stay above him for sure. But ask yourself this.. What has Bautista accomplished in 3 years and 3 races that earns him a factory ride? Why is he constantly overlooked?

According to some people on this site, every non-alien sucks and doesn't belong on this level.. So Bautista, Crutchlow,Bradyl,Spies,Ianonne,Hayden , Dovi , and even Rossi should just go away ????? Who's better? Who belongs?? You need more than 3 riders to call it a series! The problem is obviously the rules and the disparity between full factory prototypes and everything else.. Bautista belongs here, not in WSB

Joe the american, I see where you're coming from, but there has to be a point where you realize a rider has reached his peak potential too. I say 3 years is the cutoff and if you haven't shown significant improvement past that, make way for someone else, like iannone, pol, redding, to give them a chance. hayden deserves to stay I mean hes a former world champ for crying out loud. That said, on the ducati he'll be lucky to get a podium a year..The situation is different for every rider. Would the results change if bautista swapped bikes with pedrosa or marquez? not according to honda and surely they are in a better position to make that call than us.
