MotoGP » Cal Crutchlow explains Tech 3 contract timing

"Herve said I had the option to sign a two year deal with him. But if he hasn't signed a contact with the manufacturer [for 2014] then what do I do?" - Cal Crutchlow.

Sure, sure, that is the only reason. Not the 2nd seat at Ducati with a bigger paycheck. Or a nice Suzuki with a bigger paycheck. Why not get yourself a line in the contract: "free to go if Tech3 looses Yamaha prototype bikes"?

1st 3 posters same person with no life...

Good luck Cal, but it DOES seem that you see yourself as hard done by, believing that somehow you have had a disadvantage over Rossi and Lorenzo's bikes. Ever considered that the "new" parts they tried weren't as good?

I think Cal is a fast guy, but his goodish results seem to have inflated his self image, believing he is hot property. Wanting to dump Tech 3 for Ducati didn't help his loyalty ratio, taking a 1 year contract as he was sure manufacturers would be fighting for him in 2014 didn't help either. Cal's old arrogant attitude (which has hidden quite well in MotoGP) seems to be remeasuring and biting him hard.

Should have been a bit more muted Cal, but good luck in 2013 anyway...

What satellite rider doesn't dream of a factory ride? Of course he wanted the full factory Ducati, even if it wasn't all that good. Rossi left Yamaha because his nose was put out of joint by his team mate beating him. I don't recall the same level of near hatred being leveled at him for doing what he thought was best for his career as being shown to Crutchlow by most of the posters on this page. To those guys I say that you are fools who know nothing about racing.
