'Very few professional sports people stay at the top for long periods. The exceptions are the likes of Federa, Schumacher and Rossi. Rossii will still gain Podiums and in the right conditions possibly win. However there would be a major problem if the new guard did not win and shake things up. He is still fast, but the likes of MM have no fear. Scott Reading looks like a complete rider, and maybe one of the few who could challenge MM.Rossi's achievements cannot be taken away, but new blood will always shine through. It's just an aspect of life. Lets just be pleased to see Rossi out there while also enjoying the young guard. I also suspect that Rossi may finish his career at Suzuki and not Yamaha.At least it's a more competitive season this year.

The guy is 34 and can't compete with the younger guys in their 20's .

So what's the big deal, you can't stay at the top for life. U should understand that. The time will come for mac, ped, lorenzo, cal, dovi, too, when they'll be out paced. Its just the fact of life

Give the guy a damn break, he has done a good job and I think we should just try to enjoy the races as they come.

you can't take the 7championships he won back from him, nobody can. He worked had for it .

He has entertained us for years, if he aint doing that no more, fine with us we've had our share.

@fred & fab

Rossi never lead a race with the Ducati. Also, different times and circumstances.

Rossi only achieved the podium in 2011 because the Pedrosa/Simoncelli thing and in 2012 it was the rain and many riders in front of him crashing (Dovi and cal, Stoner had problems with the tyre)

@ Mr Paulo.

You just made a useless point.

So we can say mac, lorenzo, hayden, bradl got good points today because rossi crashed out. Or ped won cos lorenzo's tyre is bad. Its damit

Falling is part of racing

I say bull cr*p

@Enigmatic

That was exactly the point I made. Luck and certain circumstances play a big part in pretty much everything, not only .

In the last two years Rossi had a huge portion of good fortune in Le Mans, unlike Dovi this year.
