“I knew I had to do the race 'old school', which is no problem, just have to do everything with the wrist” – Colin Edwards.

I'm confused by the prospect of leasing an M1 engine. Surely that sits outside of the CRT regs, because you can't claim that for euro25,000 or whatever it is!

If you can lease an M1 engine can't Aprilia 'lease' their WSBK spec engines, or at least create a hybrid engine based on the WSBK engine which can meet CRT service intervals but is closer to 240bhp than the 215bhp or whatever it is now?

Can't help thinking that if Espargaro has a full fat superbike engine with gear driven cams and whatever else they want to do he'd be even closer to the front.

What a rider! I just adore his commitment.

Put Edwards on the HRC Honda and he would win all the races, he woulsd spank the two Spanish midgets hard. Only Rossi has more raw talent than Edwards on the grid.

@Jon

It would need to be highly modified Aprilia WSBK engine to get trough the kilometers witch are needed. The lifespan of wsbk engine is much much sorter than the ones prototype MotoGP bikes have.

Great to see someone going "old school" with no TC. I think they need to get ridoff atleast wheeliecontrol and ride by wire gps bullsh+++. If someone opens up the trothle I want it to be 100% about the wrist and not about what the team decided to that corner.

I've always been a CE2 fan, just hate seeing him riding around at the back of the pack....kinda like Michael Jordan wearing #45. I think he'd have a good season in WSBK, but then again, maybe not.....sigh!

what's the use of leasing the m1 engine?

the key of yamaha's success is not because of the engine, the combination of engine and chassis is the key. plus if they lease the engine and not put under CRT rules, prototype m1 engine and prototype chassis, they have to test a lot of chassis to make use of m1 engine.

i think honda's idea is much better, you just have to pay and ride, and i believe dorna will put it under CRT.

mmm...love to hear that, lets see what he can do, probably would be a good surprise, maybe tyre trouble near the end...and bring back the old guard to run like that, young riders dont know that...

theorycally, honda "leasing cheap" mode is ok, but if some one beleive on honda and his false promises,
probably is wrong... electronics use to be the key, but if you can handle it, could be impressive and good run without at least a part of electronics...
