“As always in the qualifying we suffer more than the others. They use the slipstream and are able to go a bit faster than me” – Valentino Rossi.

Asinine to blame the tow on everyone outpacing Rossi. Everyone has the opportunity to use the tow. This ain't new and Rossi being the most seasoned certainly knows how to use it. He was outpaced. Deal with it.

Man he just loves to make it hard for himself doesn't he?! You really gotta applaud him for letting the others get such a big head start at least he gives them a fighting chance. What a guy!

this qualification system is a joke. Every rider is on the track at the same time where as before riders came in to the pits and then went out when there was clear track. Watching it on tv you could clearly see riders following other riders around to gain time with the tow. marquez and hayden followed rossi for 2 laps. It almost becomes a 15 minute mini race the 1 hr session i feel always brought the best riders to the top rarely did you see riders using the slipstreamthey qualified on their own speed this is a lottery this system.

Level playing field, not really. Even in the past 5 years the electronics have changed a lot. Now you have to ride the bike in such a meticulous and specific way to be successful. Back when there was less influence from the ecu, we watched better races and had much more passing. That's all besides the point. The bottom line is rossi won't change to the bike or ride it in the way it needs to be ridden to be successful. He does things his way.

Getting a tow is just part of racing , annoying mind if you can make your own decent times , the only people that didn't tow today was Lorenzo , Pedrobot and cal , Rossi wanted one but couldn't keep up .Dovi goal hanging banged one in the net while following Pedro in the last minute of extra time .
Race result 1st George 2nd Pedro 3rd Rossi / Cal

@ Jerginz

How far back is "back when". I don't remember seeing a lot of passing at any time during Rossi's motogp career at least. While he was dominating, motogp was at its worst. His first title came when only about 6 guys had the new 4 stroke machines for the majority of the season and the rest of the field was on not just inferior bbikes but not even using the same tech! Since Lorenzo and Stoner came, motogp haz been a 100 times more competitive!
