Unfortunately Valentino conspired to his own demise. He attempted his best move, late brake - block pass, which is ok when passing the likes of JL, DP or (in the past) CS who all know to get out of the way or end up in the gravel. Different story with A B who hasn't seen the script let alone read it.
Valentino needs to sort his qualifying out and get on the front row and away from the crowd. It's no good having the race pace if you're lying on your back in the gravel!

Rossi didn't stand a hope of winning anyway. I put the curse on him 3 years ago and he hasn't won another race since. What goes around comes around. He will never win another race.

Good god the idiots are out in force today.

Racing incident end of. Interesting to see none of the experts on here have mention the fact that VR's bike didn't shift gear properly between 2nd 3rd and 4th hence why he had a poor start.

JL was brutal to day. Pleased that smith stayed on and finished. Now to the Yamaha management any chance of some help appearing in the tech 3 garage so your No1 rider has a tail gunner to disrupt the Hondas?

I though it was football that attracted mindless idiots for fans.
Rossi may well be on his way down.....but his legacy is safe.
Today's crash was a racing incident.....Bautista just did not realise Rossi had gone past him.Luckily both were unhurt, it was a nasty crash.
People have to remember Lorenzo, who is a great rider, is also at the very top of his game.
Don't forget Rossi was sweeping all before him when he was 25........Oh, most of you have forgot that.!!!
The title looks a 2 ways tussle now.......Marquez need to calm down or serious injury or worse will cut his career short. Raw talent is not enough.

So sorry to see Rossi go out that way, didn't want him to go out all all, way good for Lorenzo and the Honda guys were great too. Can't wait for Rossi to get up there and fight for the win, it will come, but the championship is getting out of reach I think.

Stunning ride from Lorenzo from start to finish.He soaked up the pressure from the Hondas like a sponge and when the time was right,he pulled the pin and cleared off.
Awesome.

Listening to all you geniuses on here, let me get this straight - Rossi and Alvara are racing side by side, Alvara turns into Rossi, clips his front wheel and takes them both out and somehow it is portrayed as Rossi "thug tactics"? Would you please like to explain that comment as I might be dumb, but I fail to understand that logic, or are these just the normal Rossi hate comments at all costs as per usual?

@99 Crystal
You got it spot on, the best rider on the grid by a mile he is in a class of his own,one of the smoothest riders I have ever seen,anybody that had any doubt about Yam making him the No1 rider in 2010 I think it is pretty plain to see why now
@scooter22
2 good posts mate but you are wasting your time on here trying to convince the rossi fans,how I seen it rossi got boged down and was being passed by numerous riders and was trying to make up a few places and 2 riders made contact big deal it happens in close racing,as they say you win some you loose some and over the years rossi won more than he lost and got away with it this time he lost,to the rossi fans build a bridge and get over it like the JLO fans have with the Marquez bump in Jarez I have forgotten both incidents and looking forward to the next race.

Confidence is a big thing, and I was looking for Rossi to get a good result here to help his. However after qualifying 7th (best qualifying I have seen to date BTW) he was always leaving himself open to be in the mid pack mayhem. Then to add to the dramas, he gets a poor start, and KAPOW, the worst happens.
After looking at several replays we can be thankfull no one got hurt. More good luck than good management.
Anyway for me 2013 for Rossi is done and dusted, and all I can hope for is that this crash hasn't deminished his confidence even more. If it hasn't, I believe he still has what it takes to contribute to racing at the pointy end. If it has, then I'm afraid it may only be downhill from here. If that's the case, thanks for the memories.
