Jorge needs Vale to start taking points off the Honda boys, he needs to get up front. Mugello is a yamaha track and qualifying on the 3rd row and Dani getting 2nd is not going to help Yamaha win the WDC or WCC this year.

If Vale gave Jorge a tow he might get that tenth that puts him on pole too...That one will be a little harder to time right though.

Jorge won it last year without help from a teammate. The biggest difference is that Stoner busted himself out of contention.

Jorge also won 2010 with his teammate who busted himself out of contention.

Jorge needs the Honda boys to take points away from each other than he needs a teammate to help him. Mugello is a perfect example.

Dr Thompson

Just watched the helicopter shot (without the annoying circle) several times, Rossi was well ahead out of the left hander. Bautista does not engage his brain again

If Rossi was "well ahead" the pair of them would not have come together.

From the top view rossi was a whole bike length ahead but at that point rossi was upright and probly on the gas more than baty as he was leaned over to the left at that point, as baty flipped it over to take the upcoming right hander he simply carried his pace into the side of rossi who was at that point off the gas hence baty apearing to catch him up.
It is my opinon that baty was taking a racing line leaning over aproach and rossi had taken a upright point and squirt line, those lines dont mix.

Also someone said its because stoner was out, true but would rossi be where he was when dohan went out through injury, i doubt it.

The sad thing about racing is that unless all riders are the same age, have equal machines, dont have failures and get offs then you will never know whos the best. rather like a 600 supercup but if im honest its probly more interesting.

kenny roberts seniour said this would happen.

right. Bautista conveniently didn't see a complete bike passing him on the right in front of a righthander starting turning right. It looks like Bautista is either completely blind or was not looking where he was going. Normally a racer looks towards the exit of the curve and has his head turned right.

In short: Bautista tried another dumb blind move and screwed up again running straight into another rider.

If everyone would ride like this guy every curve riders would tumble and 3 laps later only two people would be racing...but hey "racing incident" is the new name of this game...its normal

CRT
And last year Jorge dominated the first half of the year while Honda was trying to solve chatter and deal with the extra ballast. Biggest difference, the Honda is sorted this year and Jorge has a bigger fight on his hands.

Rossi has already broken mentally. tell you the truth that his skill is still higher than that of MM, JL, DP. Rossi has broken mentally because of his crash in 2010 and death of his friend simoncelli. rossi's career was never shadowed by injury that makes him unable to start the race until 2010 mugello. after that crash he is not the same rossi anymore. in 2011 rossi in ducati espesially motegi and catalunya still capable of top 5 finish. but after simoncelli's death in sepang in his own hand. rossi's is nowhere his formerself. he is getting old. his mentality has been broken. that"s why he is slow right now

Everyone is fighting for position in the first few corners, different lines will cause wrecks. Being a Rossi fan I was sad to see it happen. Imagine them slamming into an old style fence!!
