Tech 3 Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow consolidates his fourth place in the MotoGP standings with a second consecutive podium at Mugello.

The best of the rest, I do not think that saying is going to hold on for long as Cal is becoming a superior rider. If he keeps this up he will have a factory ride in no time and Pol Espargero is not going to have a ride on Tech 3 next year unless they kick that useless rider Bradly Smith off the Tech 3 bike as he does not deserve it.

Cal given your uncertainty you ride with passion and pride and have taken a satellite bike to the podium again others will say marquez fell off and you were gifted a podium well you had to be in it to win it. I hope you get the bike you deserve as GB flag flyer you are doing us proud. Well done another podium hope Yamaha are taking notice given POL ESPARGARO is riding like Miss daisy!

Yes, a gifted podium, as he admits himself, but a strong ride nonetheless, with consistently quick lap times.

What Cal (and his crew) seem able to do this year is keep on finding setup solutions as the weekend goes on, whereas in past seasons they would tend to hit a brick wall in terms of progress. It's an important ability to have in order to be competitive at every event, and he seems to have cracked it now. If he can keep that up then more podiums must surely be on the cards.

Hate to be the devils advocate here but if crutch was with the factory Yamaha squad, he would not be doing much better than he is right now. The level in talent of the RIDER is what makes the difference gents. Why was dovi able to achieve about the same results in tech3 as he did with repsol? Look at Ben spies' no podium season while with th factory squad. All the evidence points to crutch getting maybe a podium a season more if he was on the factory bike.. Nothing more.. To have "alien" status you need a win, not gifted podiums.

2nd Yamaha is factory level performance. Yamaha favor Jorge for obvious reasons, if Cal only managed 2nd Yamaha the whole year nobody should complain.

The bike is built for Jorge, Jarvis like Jorge, it is what it is, Cal is being smart, he wont get these many opportunities later in the season I feel, Ducati are not too far behind I feel with their lab bike etc, the sooner Cal can get a seat at YFR the better for him.

Cal has a world championship for Yamaha in WSS, hes good on their bikes, hes not Spanish and hes got some good years left in him. I think Rossi is at a cross roads, Rossi can still outperform Cal over a race, I am sure, but it looks like the momentum is slowly leaking out of that side of the garage and people are starting not to BELIEVE, which is everything in this CONFIDENCE GAME that we call MotoGP.

Cal deserves another year with Yamaha on a quality bike, at the very minimum.

Lets not get carried away, this podium was fortunate as he was clearly going to be 4th.
Rossi crashed too

Also he no longer has a strong team mate.

He is as good as last year but things have changed.
I'm not saying he has not improved but Dovi on a yamaha here would be battling for 3rd.

I think that says it all Don.Crutchlow put in a great effort today and although his podium was gifted,i dont think many would begrudge him it.Great consistancy.
Well done Cal!
Yamaha,are you paying attention!!!!
