If Bradley smith had been the only Brit in motogp then he would be getting lots of words of encouragement on this site probably because its his first year in gp as is lavertys . Lavertys not getting slated is he ? So why is Bradley. He is doing ok

I wonder what the specialists on this site said about Crutchlow after his fifth race in MotoGP in 2011, given that Smith has got more points now than Crutchlow did then. "Waste of a ride", "give that bike to someone capable", "a Supersport title means nothing", blah, blah, blah.

So many d**kheads on this site who seem to know nothing about motogp at all. Brads doing a great job for his first year. He may never have won a moto2 race, but nobody else has done any better on the tech3 moto2 machine. Look at Simeon this year (Brads comprehensively beaten team mate last year), new team/bike and he's suddenly challenging for top positions. How're Danny kent and Louis Rossi doing on it this year? Both moto3 winners but running in the last third of the field!
Brad's probably never gonna win a title but I'm certain he'll be scoring some top 6's by this time next year.
Can't wait to see all you keyboard warriors choking on your humble pie when he does.

Why are you comparing a rookie in his 5th MotoGP race with a rider on his third season on the same machine? Are new new to the sport or something?

What about MM ?
He's a rookie too..

it really doesnt matter what the knockers think - stating 'facts' or 'opinions'. (more the latter than the former i'd say - but hey, its theirs to state)

Herve is the man whose opinion matter:

"Bradley started very strong and we knew this track was going to be special for him because he loves it and it was a pity to see him crashing and hurting his hand. But he showed incredible motivation and he was defying intense pain that most of us can't understand in the race. Two very big crashes made it a difficult weekend but he was very strong and he got faster and faster and he set the eighth fastest time of the race, so big congratulations to him and I am veryproud of my British pair."

The performance of Smith yesterday, was where he is expected to be. With or without a finger injury. Thats the best he ever will do in MotoGP. Considering riding a prototype. On a CRT he will be getting 16-19th positions. I have a question. Probably DonR knows it. It seems that the contract between Tech3 and Yamaha expires at the end of this year. Smith has a contract with Poncheral (Tech3) and not with Yamaha. I assume that whenever Poncheral wants to secure another 2 yearsback up from Yamaha, Yamaha can force him to take another pilot as Smith. That is what most probably will happen. Maybe a mistral frame with a M1 engine for Smith next year?
