@50thR1

Yes, Tech 3 are looking to secure another 2-yr deal with Yamaha, and I think they soon will. Probably with hand-me-down factory kit again.

As to rider line-up, it's massively complicated right now, as Yamaha want Espargaro in the team, Herve and Monster Energy want Cal in the team, and Bradley has a 2-yr deal ongoing. I don't know how it's all going to be resolved but I'd be very surprised if Smith isn't on an M1 prototype again next year. I think his contract and personal sponsors Monster Energy will see to that.

Ideal situation:

- Cal moves up to Factory Yamaha alongside Lorenzo

-Tech3 signs up Pol Spargaro but gets rid of Bradley Smith (I know... I know... the Brits will chuck a tanty). This way they can bring in Scott Redding in his place (see? I made up for it!)

- Suzuki joins the party and signs up Aleix Spargaro alongside Nicky Hayden (I'd prefer a better rider than Nicky as I'm not too sure he can develop a new bike at this stage but whatever...)

- Rossi buys out a CRT team and signs a contract to lease Yamaha engines so he can start his own team with his current pitcrew. Hopefully brings in a decent teammate that would have no chance anywhere else (i.e. Abraham)

Good ride for Smith all things considered, he looked visibly more comfortable on the bike and his progress is quite clear to see - he's starting to turn his year around so let's hope he keeps it up.

Also, there is nothing wrong with 'keyboard warriors' - thats the whole point of a forum, for fans to discuss the races and give their opinions - i'm so sick of people saying

"well the riders are all brave, and none of you could do that etc etc"

That is true, but we don't need to hear it on every thread! Let's just discuss and share our opinions, regardless of whether or not we could do better!

ITs not the opinions that people object to its the belittling of the riders and the lack of respect which, quite frankly is perceived out of ignorance, of just how hard a discpline this sport is . thats what riles every true fan or person that knows how dedicated you need to be to get anywhere near this level, not to mention super talented.... youl find certain posters on here never disrrespect the riders. even though their opinions are as frequent as many.... take heed of what these guys say , theyre the real fans who probably have some degree of experience relative to what theyre commenting on...

i have been watching bike racing since 1993 when i got eurosport but have been completely mistaken in thinking the idea was to win. now we have been told you just need to get into the top 10 , get a grip and get Redding in

@bobby brownnose so very correct. And so many of the current grid have won a race! so basically everyone should just go home if they cant come out of the gate like Marquez. I do believe its took Scott until year 4 to actually get a moto2 win, but you can see he is now flying. Perhaps thats because things take time. With the annoying adverts, and insightful comments i think ive had it with crash. name sums it up really.

Rossi, Bautista, Marquez out, smith is lucky to be in 9th, let's all applaud his effort of being beaten by a CRT and finishing 2nd last of the proto's on an excellent bike, rookie season or not, motogp isn't just a sport it's a business, sponsors want results and expect them.

tech3 stuffed up signing smith to that deal, it's not smiths fault he's there though why wouldn't he sign on the line it's a great opportunity but he needs to make the most of it though, rookie season or not, he's riding for his motogp future and atm his contract is the only thing securing it....

Another thing that would be great is un unbiased call of the race not two git commentators praising smith for running around at the back of the pack

kesh.... dont you see the irony in what your saying... is this the top class of motorcycle racing or isnt it.....every rider who enters this class has every chance of finding it their biggest challenge ever...because it is...and a rookie can , indeed, should be expected to struggle... yes there are exceptions but that is what they are .for the rest it can take time . brad is scoring better than cal at this stage in his rookie year and 3seasons on(not 5 racers) where are all the manywho said he wasnt worthy now ?? give him time,, when you look at whear the tech 3 moto2 bike is finishing now and how far he was ahead of simion his team mate last year, who is really strong on a kalex, you have to respect herves opinion and give him time..

@go brad
There were alot more people taking points from Cal in 2011, there were 3 x repsols, 2x gresini honda's, 2 x suzuki's, a tonne of proto duc's , also Cal had to learn a tonne of tracks, and he had a few off's pushing hard which is still his issue now. Smith knows the tracks, if the talent is there rookie or not results will show. How long do you give brad, 1 season , 2 seasons, does he end up another Edwards @ yamaha ...... To be happy with a 9th place in a world championship shouldnt be your mentality

Hey BS bashers just have a look at Brads last year Mugello results and you'll see his input and then compare it to this years Tech3 riders in Moto2. Where are all the Kent bashers after all he's gotten NO points. I/we know Kent is a good solid rider but don't put BS down.
