A lot of rather ridiculous conspiracy theories around Spies being banded about here but the reality is that Pramac want to have two bikes on the track and if they keep borrowing Pirro, this will disrupt Ducati's development activities with the lab bike. Therefore it is perfectly logical to draft in a replacement for the duration of Spies' injury and this can only be a rider who is not already contracted elsewhere. Biaggi is available and if he is fast enough, and wants to, why not draft him in as a temporary replacement?

How many times these days we have seen a thriller for race win in finishing stages,, JL and DP have too much respect for each other and on similar wavelength mentally
i.e., to avoid battle and go for a clean thumping win... Too BORING...

Come on Ducati give Max a few races also,, riding in the mid-pack let him demonstrate the art and joy of pure ruthless bloody battling,,,
hmmm battling with whom,,? you know who is going to lock horns with him,he is also now riding in mid field,,

Let the battle for race wins in early 2000's resume in the mid-field after a decade...

I do not understand Max doing this? he was WSBK champion last year the aprillia bikes are probably the fastest and technically superior to the other bikes in WSBK yet he is going to jump on a satellite Ducati bike which lets be honest is awful! lots of conspiracy theorists jabbering on about Ben Spies the guy is busted up leave it out"! and for all max's skill and courage the factory Ducatis are well again lets be honest mid rate pants! then how will he battling with his nemesis, I appreciate Rossi is under performing massively maybe this is Yamahas secret plan to kick him in the butt and sort himself out especially as Max spent most of the Mugello GP on the Yamaha timing stand?? hows that for conspiracy theory!!

Is Biaggi not just coming in to have a play while he's in retirement? I guess with his experience he will have some kind of feedback but surely there's no chance of him replacing Spies.

Good though it may be I reckon there would be much more likely replacements out there...possibely Canepa?

To be honest I think half the reason Biaggi is friends with Lorenzo to wind up Rossi but I like the conspiracy that he is friends with Lorenzo because Yamaha want him to wind up Rossi

"I do not understand Max doing this?" He is going to ride around the track (probably in his comfort zone), give Pramac some feedback and get a trouser full of loot. What is not to understand?

Max is just curious if he can be faster on the same machine Rossi failed on. :)))
Apart from that, Ducati must be really interested in the input of a rider who has ridden such a variety of high level bikes. Sometimes to go forward you must look back.

reading between the lines of the pramac statement, they said At the moment, this is the extent of the arrangement basically meaning if max does a good job testing the ducati it will probably lead to doing some races. also remember that pramac were maxs personal sponser during his motogp years and also sponsers of his honda satiliete team, so this all makes sense.
