Vale, along with Edwards, are old school through and through. Which is prob something to do with the qualifying issue. Being mid-pack through the first 1/2 lap is gambling quite a bit too. I liked the old qual format myself. Burgess is very involved in trying to solve it somehow, but he's no spring chicken and must be close to being ready for retirement. I do wish Vale a good handful of podiums this season at the very least.

I think it is ridiculous to drag out the 'old school' excuse when these guys have had the longest time to adapt and the widest amount of experience with every aspect of the technical side of grand prix motorcycling including the crude methods of traction control utilised on the two-strokes. The excuse just doesn't hold water when you think about it rationally.

To all the guys saying Burgess needs to sort him out for qualifying, what on earth are you talking about.

It's Rossi's responsibility to be on the pace when the team needs him to be. Besides, every other rider seems to be fine with it, so his qualifying times are actually a reflection of his raw pace i.e. not good enough.

And I bet I'll get a heap of dislikes now from the fanboys.

Season proper starts at Catalunya.

Rossi is going to put another masterclass here. One epic win coming up. Sell your house and bet all the money on Rossi winning the race, thank me on Monday.

These up jumped Spanish riders like Jorge, Marc and Dani would do well to just follow behind Rossi at Catalunya and learn how to ride the bike at 10/10 limits.

Ive been watching since 2003, He used to qualify well (always front row) mostly. Back then his race pace was way beyond anyone else because thats what he and his crew concentrated on. He could throw in a 'quali' tyre in the last 10 mins and get pole, 2nd or 3rd. Now in 2013, he qualifys badly, not because he is slow, I just think the level of riders around him has gone up, they are faster and more competitive. Now on race day he is probably a close second to JLo with race pace. Thats why he always finishes higher than he qualifies, because of race pace that is better than all except JLo. :)

Rossi has been with bad luck speacly at last Gp where he had serious chances of Beat Pedrosa because is pace was very good and has we saw Pedrosa drop a lot is pace on the final stage of race, if Marquez dont crash Pedrosa would not have get the 2 place!! At Lemans was is fault but he was not with super pace and was WET race!! For me its clear that Rossi still can fight and improve is riding eeing more fast and consistente!! 4sure every rider needs to qualify good but has i wach 4 Rossi many years ago he was never the outstanding qualify rider but insted he is one hell of a racer, he didnt deserve what happen at Mugello also because was not even is fault, Bautista can complain that he didnt wach Rossi that was clearly in front, now imagine how Rossi would wach what bautista was doing? only if he had eyes on is ASS and even one 9 time world Champion dont have that Super Power..AHAHAH, Aim loocking foward for more races but i would apreciated a lot if i can wach Rossi doing all race inst
