no matter which way you look at it as much as i love bike racing seeing the poverty in the world and what dorna charge to see the racing you have to look and say to yourselves are these people worth it? a Million a month basically, well David Beckham gave his years salary playing football in France to a children charity battling poverty has VALE done anything similar, I think the whole of the Paddock should look in at themselves and do some good in the world if VALE is as high on the Forbes list as published he should take the lead and do some good in the world.

Ok, it's about attracting sponsors, but could someone please explain how on earth can golf attract more sponsorship money than motorcycle racing? I call it insomnia therapy rather than a sport. It seems to be fun to play, since a lot of people do it, but don't expect me to watch it.

Not his biggest fan but I totally hand it to the guy to be able to screw the cash from the sport that he still is able to. I do though, fail to see how the vast seperation between his popularity and any other competitor has ever been good for the sport.
DORNAs inability to nurture more than one nasty rivalry at a time has really limited the sports chance to expand into anything more than the Rossi vs 'X' show.
btw, I often wonder how much he would have sacrificed to have been competitive on the desmo, I think it would be a lot if he was asked before jarvis threw him the life preserver.

How insulting.

$ 12 million is nothing for haing the great privilige of Rossi riding your bike. If Yamaha had any sense they would cut Jorge's salary and pay Rossi at least $40 million a year.

Even at 40 million a year Rossi is great vlaue. He brings more to motoGP than all other riders on the grid combined. Ask anyone, people watch motoGP to watch Rossi demolish the grid.

"DORNAs inability to nurture more than one nasty rivalry at a time has really limited the sports chance to expand into anything more than the Rossi vs 'X' show."

Like who? Lorenzo and Pedrosa are now respectful (and very boring) buddies. Name another "nasty rivalry" apart from other rider's wariness of Bautista and Barbera??? Is it that we don't see it or that none exist?

"Ask anyone, people watch motoGP to watch Rossi demolish the grid."....................well..... I am sure there are still some of his fans that turn on the telly in the hope of this, but unfortunately it hasn't been happening has it! The only guys demolishing the grid are Dani, Jorge and Marq... The three aliens.

It's a joke that his fans think that when Rossi is gone people will stop watching Moto Gp. Just not gonna happen with guys like Marquez in action. We have had many exciting riders before him... Sheene, Schwantz, Gardner, Doohan some of my faves... and many more will follow... unless you live in some kind of Rossi la la land!

Don't worry codger they delete half my posts too! LOL

@ scooter 22
The riders (Rossi included) donate a lot of time and money to worthy causes. Mamola is the embassador for organising these evants to raise money.

I have read alot of anti Rossi posts in my time, but your post is the most disrespectfull one yet.
Give yourself an uppercut.
