You only have to look at the massive drop in spectators when Valentino was out with his broken leg to understand why he is paid so much. Valentino Rossi is THE biggest name and THE biggest attraction for MotoGP whether he is winning races or not - he is a legend and people just love him. You can harp on and on about his time at Ducati, his lack of race wins etc. but Valentino Rossi will always be the one to see !

It has taken 15 years, but there is another rider in MotoGP who could step into Valentino's boots once he decides to retire, and that is Marc Marquez! However, Marc doesn't yet have the same charisma, the flamboyance, the humour and everything else that Valentino has, but he definately has the skills. Maybe in time, the young usurper could develop into the lovable charactor the world loves and will miss desperately when he finally hangs up his leathers! I for one hope it is a long time off!!

if as many of you say moto gp has to rely on personalities instead of racing it is in big trouble and i think it is . . .good story lines, dull racing . . .4 bikes can win?? the others are there just to make it look legit.
spies made a good point in his last interview limit the tires level the playing field . .easiest solution i ever heard to fix mgp

MotoGP whether he is winning races or not

Fact is Rossi hasn't won a race since 2010, so lets not mix it up, he still has his fans just like One Direction do but that doesn't make him a winner any more

Thankyou for the explanation. However I did not criticise another poster........I criticised the extremely slow, difficult to navigate crash website.
I actually backed up a poster who said something similar, who has garnered 159 'agrees'

Quote, It would possibly take a minor miracle for Valentino Rossi to win another MotoGP title. Jeremy Burgess, Rossi's crew chief has been quoted as saying.

Looks like his team has given up too! ....At this point you really have to ask yourself does this guy really deserve all this cash? In my opinion his salary seriously outweighs his ability! No wonder he has a permanent grin on his face!
