'After the start I felt like the guys in front of me were holding me up and in an effort to stay with the lead group I tried to get past them and I crashed' - Alvaro Bautista

There are some very obvious sub-plots to all of this.
Bautista is not the first Latin hot-head to park his brain before he goes racing but even he must recognise that he will be dumped by Gresini for next season and his future looks CRT at best.
Equally though he is probably responding to the other thread by Rossi criticising him. Rossi's agenda is clear in trying to draw attention to Bautista to camoflage the fact that it was another lukewarm performance by Rossi well under what should be expected with a factory Yamaha. The one thing Rossi has always been the GOAT in is playing the media, having the attention focused on him when it suits, and distracting it somewhere else when it doesn't.

As i said yesterday,Alvaro needs to learn patience.How he can claim he was being held up after such a short period of time is beyond me.
As for him having a chance at a podium finish yesterday as someone has suggested,i think that is wishful thinking in the extreme.The only way he was headed for the podium is for the top 3 having a disaster of some sort.Perhaps his comment was a dig at Val for HIS comments but i dont think his claim of being held up was a viable one.That is just my opinion you understand.

@yes yes yes

i am a big rossi fan, no secret, but i am also an alvaro fan. know him enough to say hello and have a chat, thats about it. but i am sure his comments are just a dig back at rossi. he cant just sit there and take it. and if he thought he could pass him? f**k it. its racing. mm almost taking out his own team mate was worse imho.

alvaro is one of the nicest and humblest guys on the grid. and he is hungry. so he makes mistakes. does it give the procession that is now motogp some talking points? yes. is everyone saying he is a great guy or a d**k? yes.

so he gets everyone talking, and maybe some people watching.

mind you, he needed that crash like a third armpit. it really shot the fox etc etc zzzzzzzz

Anyone who has roadraced a motorcycle will know that you can get this feeling after just one or two corners, let alone 9. When you are being held up, you know it immediately.
You could see Bautista was frustrated at Rossi's lack of pace, he carried a lot of speed into the corner expecting Rossi to do the same, and had to jam on his brakes to avoid Rossi who was considerably slower, that's why he fell off. Rossi is making a big deal of it which in my opinion is rediculous. Time to retire mate, you are getting in the way of faster riders!

Darn that Bautista. Lorenzo last year....Rossi this year at Mugello....and another attempt at Rossi at Catalunya. I have to admit, Bautista is damn good at shooting that bike at other riders. His hit rate is pretty good!

"You could see Bautista was frustrated at Rossi's lack of pace, he carried a lot of speed into the corner expecting Rossi to do the same".

But if you look at Rossi, he was sitting up patiently behind Crutchlow, realising this was the first lap and not to try anything stupid. Both Rossi and Crutchlow were just following the leaders at this point, using their brains a bit. Alvero didn't!
