'We had a programme this afternoon... unfortunately I crashed at the beginning – I don't understand why because I don't push a lot' - Valentino Rossi

@ claes agreed. Even as his fan, he has to accept some responsibility for mugello, as he shouldn't be qualifying mid pack in the first place.

If he just qualifies better, this season could turn around. He was 5/6 seconds behind the lead at the finish last time out, and qualified on the third row. Its not that bad, apart from the poor qualifying

He's running out of "favorite" tracks though, like you say. :/

Any thoughts on why qatar was so promising?

It's good that he wasn't knocked off this race and that he finished without any significant errors. While 4th is disappointing he still doesn't look comfortable enough to push harder and like others noted he needs to qualify better. Hopefully he'll start figuring things out to return to a form where he can compete with the race leaders.

I'm a Rossi fan but his best days are too far behind him now and I feel he needs to retire now to keep his reputation intact. Nobody will ever take his legend away but the last two and a half years have diluted the strength of his achievements in the eyes of many. As much as anything he seems to have lost his 'edge'. Retire now and leave the seat to someone on the way up - be it Cal, Alex Espagaro (NOT Pol). As I said, I am a fan but would rather see him go gracefully than this season's floundering.

how much more entertaining would this race have been if rossi was up there with the other 3. it would have made a boring race into a very exciting race.

hes past it i hear people say, two tenths a lap slower then lorenzo, naaaa

he was in sight of the top 3 the entire race and people say he should retire.

your not serious, rossi is the most exciting thing in motogp right now, that's why everyone on here talks about him 24/7 lol

two tenths is all, thats nothing

Stop knocking the guy and taking cheap shots. Rossi Is a Legend and always will be.
Yeah his form seems to be dipping but I thinks it is because JLo is developing the M1 in his way. Give it time and Rossi will work it out.
Once he has had time to settle in then we can really have an even field :)
JLo, Dani Ped & Marc Mar have had it handed to them on a plate. I dont doubt their skills but to even try to equal Rossi then should jump off their their Factory bikes, join Suzuki and win the title in the first year of trying!!! Then I will say they too, are legends :D hahaha
