MotoGP » EXCLUSIVE Colin Edwards - Q&A

“Don't let the spring valve aspect of the Honda Production MotoGP bike scare you. That thing's gonna be fast as hell. I've heard some numbers and compared to the prototypes, there's not much difference” - Colin Edwards.

Typical Edwards doing what he loves to do GP needs more guys like him.
Level machinery is whats needed not stunted machinery. The proddy Hondas might prove fairly competitive at shorter tracks just depends on what the power difference is at higher revs then may see a surprise on those bikes.
Colin I guess has a home for quite a few years cause who has more experience developing a Yam than him.

The best interviews are from Colin.

The guy has so much knowledge and absolutely no ego. He has no qualms accepting that he is a development rider.

He says it like it is but at the same time does not hurt or offend anyone.

Hope he gets a nice package under him next year and the CRT are a bit more competitive.

Very interesting to hear how Suter-BMW treated that project.

re: "Back in the day when we used to develop tyres it used to be so much fun because they'd just say 'sh*t, what do you need, let's build it'. Now, instead of the tyre manufacturers spending their money building a tyre for you, you've got to rely on a factory or FTR or Kalex to make a chassis to suit the tyre."

further proof (as if you needed it?), that "free lunch" does not exist.

Its really a great racer, i wish he could get one World Champion at Motogp it would be so importante to him or at least one race win at one American round, anyway is love and dedication to Motogp is enaught for me as a fan to have Big respect from 2 time Wsbk Champion on that cool Vtwin made by Honda=).. I hope he keeps on Motogp and that he get one decente bike to keep in Motivated to do better.. for me Edwards best race has to be Laguna Seca 2005 where he finish 2 he did a great race and he beat Rossi where Rossi beat Casey in 2008..lolol i think that Rossi try to do the same has Edwards but just run a bit wide..lol If i had the money to go to America on Holidays i will try to go to Texas to see the Tornado Home..

CE is full of himself. He should have stayed in WSBK as that's the height of his talent. Don't let him fool you, he's happy to be on the CRT, no pressure to perform and he still gets paid 800gs at riding at the back but now his excuse is CRT, hell he didn't make it to the front much on the Tech 3 or Gressini Honda. 11 seasons 12 podiums no wins, hell if I could ride at the back making that money I'd stay too.

@picklehead
He did fine on the tech3, except when Spies was his team mate.
He did fine on the factory M1 as well, considering he was the team mate of Valentino and did not get the same support as Valentino did.

"Because of his dev skills someone got 4 WC on the best bike against mediocre opponents."

Spot on. Even though Edwards didn't join Yamaha until 2005, the fact that he was there helped Rossi win the 2004 WC on the Yamaha!

Idiot.
