He can aim for the podium which should be possible but he can also aim for a win and bag himself a factory bike for next year. I wish him the best and Im sure he wont want to be gifted anything at JoL's expense.

There's still 3 full-fat Factory bikes still in it - so talk of a certain podium or even a win are all a bit fantastical and very premature.

No offence to Cal, I like him as a rider and would love to see him excel, but lets not pretend a podium result is in the bag - cos its not - he still needs to beat one Factory Yam/HRC just to get on the lowest step of the box.

The only thing JL's sad accident really does is the blindingly obvious - it moves pretty much everyone up 1 spot in the standings - nothing more.

Still, good luck to Cal, and a speedy recovery to Jorge!

Cal always talks himself up."I was fastest in the wet today" ? really? when? i watched the whole session. he wasnt on top the whole session at all! He always seems to think he is better than the factory guys but just lacks the right bike. . The factory bikes are not much better plus they have to test more often while he gets to focus on fast laps. !!!!! Look at top speeds . Cal is always right there even faster than the factory bikes at times. Same brakes, similar suspension, . Look at Ben spies. He was no faster on the factory bike even though he was sure he would be. . I can't wait to hear what cal says when he actually does get a factory bike and still doesn't beat dani Marc and Jorge. Everyone thinks he is owning rossi too. Actually he is not. In dry races he beat rossi in Texas. Lost to him in Qatar, Jerez and Catalunya. So he only beat rossi in lemans (wet) where rossi crashed (his own fault) and Texas. Mugello, rossi was crashed into. And look at "race laps" and see that rossi

If they got rid of the electronics factory vs non factory bikes wouldn't be as important. Thats the biggest disparity item in GP if you ask me, that and what ever someone is getting in the mystery sealed motor, and if Bridgestone are playing games.

True, in a way I guess. But again, to finish first, first you have to finish. And you talk about top speed. And then you mention Qatar. At Qatar Cal was by far the fastest man around the circuit until he got to the straight, where everyone, including Rossi BLEW past him. Not much difference you say...? Hmmm...
